In the important election on March 11, 2014, I will be voting for Joe Kenney for Executive Councilor for District 1. You should vote for Joe too. As he demonstrated when serving as a Selectman, Representative and State Senator, Joe Kenney’s priority is what is best for the people of New Hampshire, not what’s good for the special interests.
Part of the Executive Councilor’s job is to oversee spending on contracts over $10,000. Joe’s habit and commitment is to ensure that the taxpayer’s get the best value for the money that government takes and spends. Joe’s focus is whether a project is really needed and, if so, to ensure it is done most efficiently.
If you think taxpayer money should be used to benefit special interest groups or friends, then Joe is not your guy. Joe thinks it is more important to reject unnecessary projects than to bring them in “under budget”.

To say that the Belknap County Convention’s budget meetings have been contentious is like calling a hunger crazed tiger a kitty cat. Yelling, sulking, obstruction, power struggles, Liberals hating the Conservatives who were given the power by the people, Govt employees demanding more from the taxpayers, lawsuits by the Commissioners against the NH State Reps that make up the NH Belknap County Delegation, the minority Democrat Reps suing the Majority Republicans – who SAYS politics can’t be entertaining?
Problem is, I was able to go to very few of the meetings including the final one that a few folks really wanted me to video. Fortunately, ‘Grok friend Rosemary was there and graciously allowed me to “borrow” the video for posting. First part here, the rest after the jump:
FIRST! We applaud those that stood tall and voted against the Morse / Bradley Medicaid Expansion bill: NH State Senator Andy Sanborn, NH State Senator John Reagan, NH State Senator Sam Cataldo, NH State Senator Sharon Carson, and NH State Senator Russell Prescott.
We’ve been writing for a while that we absolutely believe that if the NH State Senate Republicans were to pass Obamacare’s Medicaid Expansion, the Live Free or Die state will be no more. No, we aren’t going to be physically absorbed by Massachusetts but our Live Free or Die philosophy will continue to die – that Individual mattered most, that people were responsible for themselves and not on Government. That will now change due to the fecklessnes of the Rogue Republicans ™ that have abandoned pretty much every Plank in the Republican Platform. Not limited but MORE government, not less but MORE taxes, not being able to be left alone but MORE intrusiveness, not less but MORE debt for our kids to pay off, and not more but LESS choice. And we can thank NH State Senator Jeb Bradley, NH State Senator Nancy Stiles, NH State Senator Chuck Morse, and NH State Senator Bob Odell. And their cohorts NH State Senator Jeannie Forrester, NH State Senator David Boutin, and NH State Senator Jim Rausch for it. They believe this will enhance Republican chances in November. Ha! They were warned. And now the backlash from the Grassroots has started. From Jerry Delemus of the Rochester 9/12 who is longer willing to “settle” (emphasis mine):
This is what we get when we vote for the lesser of 2 evils. Evil! It was obvious what the traitors to Republican values were going to do and they did, vote with the Democrats just like the 28 in the House did [in DC -Skip] on extending the debt ceiling. Message from Establishment to everyone else and especially to conservatives, “we don’t like you and we don’t care one bit about the Republican party platform.”
So here’s a message to you Establishment, “we will not aide the Republican Establishment and we will leave blank any voting boxes for candidates we do not fully trust, no more lesser of 2 evils“.
This will be the gift that will keep on giving – the Kiss of Death, that is. To the Republicans, that is. They just didn’t realize it, all those Smart People in the NH State Senate with Rs after their names that voted to implement Obamacare’s Medicaid Expansion (even though they tried to call it other names and used other terms to “market it). They tried SO hard not to let it be called Medicaid Expansion.
The NH Grassroots are not amused. Even the Washington Post saw right through this lamo attempt:

Yup. Obamacare’s Medicaid Expansion – breaking the “resist Obamacare at all costs” from the NH GOP Platform. Yeah, that helps to convince the Grassroots to support you. But wait! You ALSO threw all of your supporters under the bus (just like Obama):

The Senate compromise on Medicaid Expansion in New Hampshire (SB 413) is based on the presumption that no force on earth or in heaven would prevent the passage of the Democrat majority House Plan (HassanCare). That Republican state Senator Nancy Stiles and Bob Odell are so committed to ignoring the fact that they are supposed to oppose this kind of trap and defend the people of New Hampshire, that the compromise (BradleyCare) is the lesser of two evils.
I’ve, more or less, known this all along. Stiles announced very early in the session that she was voting for expansion and there are no Democrats who will oppose it (at least in the Senate) because it almost guarantees that we will end up needing even more government to hide the mess it will create and a broad-based tax to pay for it all.
Votes matter. Associations matter. Just ask a New Hampshire Democrat and they will tell you it is true; Republicans are all Tea-Party pimps, embraced by the Kochtopus, even if the Tea Party hates their left-leaning RINO ass, and they have never heard of the Koch brothers–let alone seen one thin dime in political contributions. As far as Democrats are concerned….close enough. Association matters.
New Hampshire US Senator Jeanne Shaheen voted to confirm Debo Adegbile to run the Department of Justice Civil rights division. This is a division rife with controversy already, and Debo defended a cop-killer. It does not appear to concern Senator Shaheen that Barack Obama, given all the candidates he might choose, picked a guy associated with a cop killer. She blindly voted for his approval.
It is amusing to see Democrats trying to claim to support Veterans and claiming that Republicans don’t. Democrats cut military retirement benefits, over strong Republican objections, that they now claim to want to restore. In fact Democrats specifically intended to hurt the military, cutting military pensions for current service personnel, while only cutting civilian pensions for future employees.
This latest fake claim of wanting to help veterans is only a political move to put Republicans in a box, either they agree to restore the benefits which further increase our irresponsible deficit spending (to benefit Democrat constituencies), or they charge Republicans with being anti-veteran. Republicans opposed these cuts and they want pensions restored, but they want them restored without increasing our irresponsible deficit.
WMUR: With Republicans split over the matter, the GOP-led New Hampshire Senate passed a measure Wednesday that would effectively expand Medicaid by providing health insurance to an additional 58,000 of some of the state’s poorest residents. …The bill passed 18-5. Carol SEIU-Porter and Ann “Hide your Camera” Kuster are like tiny, little, interchangeable, cogs in the progressive DC machinery. So it should be no surprise that with re-election coming up they are suddenly in favor of delaying the implementation of an important piece of “job creating” legislation that hard-working American families (children, seniors, single moms, and our ‘most vulnerable’ just couldn’t do without)–because of what a disaster it is to jobs, hard-working American families, children, seniors, single moms…, and most importantly, to their political careers.
That’s right, the Patient Affordable Care Act, what may be the most poorly named piece of legislation in modern history, is a complete disaster and endangers their continued membership as tiny, little, interchangeable cogs in the progressive DC machinery.
Last night there was an open candidates night for Atkinson residents to ask questions of two people who are running for Selectman in that sad, sad, crooked town.
One of the candidates is the notorious thug and bully, former Police Chief Phil Consentino.
I have written about the guy so many times I honestly can’t remember all the issues. Google him.
