Yesterday I wrote about John White, the Democrat state Senate candidate who called New Hampshire’s low income residents bottom feeders.  Had a Republican said this it would be above the fold on every paper but the Union Leader.  But a Democrat said it.  But that is how Democrats think.

They also think that they can get votes by pimping the DNC’s wage outrage and the push for hiking the minimum wage.  The talking points number is $10.10/hour, a meaningless number that probably polled well among guilty liberals who could care less because they have other motivations.  [No one can likely “live” on $10.10 an hour either, and all it will do is hurt the people Democrats claim they want to help, but the increase will also trigger more than a few automatic hikes in wages for well paid union employees (some paid by taxpayers) who will then get to pay more dues to the unions who will then have more Money for Democrat campaigns.]

But lets stick to the $10.10/ hour number because when John “Bottom Feeders” White said hiking the minimum wage was his cure for economic ills, he said it because it was Democrat party rhetoric, but without grasping that he is appealing to almost no one in New Hampshire.

Former NH House Candidate and Democrat activist Jared S. Cram double voted from Wilton NH, and Philadelphia PA.  Cram has “lived in PA, since late 2005, but voted in NH as recently as 2012.

Defenders of such electoral habits as these, from the State Party, to local Democrats who domicile non-resident voters, to the NH AG’s office (some of whom also domicile non-resident voters) will all claim that there is no way to know the intent of the person claiming to be a resident of New Hampshire for voting purposes.

I beg to differ.  And in Cram’s case I challenge the advocates of non-resident vote thievery to prove otherwise.

Old news from the Fish Wrap that’s gained new life; Democrat State Senate Candidate John R. White calls low income residents bottom feeders.

If the Republicans were serious about job creation, they’d get serious about boosting the bottom feeders and stop worrying so much about the boys in the boardrooms.

Instead, they eliminated the state’s minimum wage, dropping the state wage floor to the federal level, a level at which no family can survive.

The state GOP is demanding an apology for the insult but I think they are missing the boat.   New Hampshire’s average hourly rate of pay, according to NH state employment Security data is $22.62/hour.   The lowest reported hourly rate is still above the Democrat parties arbitrary talking point.  And New Hampshire consistently ranks well on every metric of national prosperity, in the absence of the Democrats so-called, must have, state minimum wage.

That’s free Market driven prosperity without arbitrary government interference, thanks (according to NH Democrat John White) to Republicans.  Hello!  Republican Messaging Department!  Lighting strike!

Havenbagger – yeah, I chose it specifically for Walt Havenstein.  Can’t take credit for coming up with it but given his absolutely arrogant non-apology for his teabagger comment (for which MANY in the Liberty & Freedom wing of the Party have asked (some even very politely after pointing out the PR harm it will do to his campaign, but were refused), it seems appropriate.  And all it would have taken would have been a polite “I’m sorry” (even if, as he has claimed, he didn’t know what it meant).  Even after having explained to him that that many in the L&F movement have taken it to be the same as if he had called us all “the N word”; he hasn’t apologized

Subnote: IF he had used the N-word unknowingly instead,  would he have NOT apologized given how many consider that a slur of the highest degree as well simply because of what he has held about his teabagger comment, that he just didn’t know?

Well back in Part 2, Mark Vincent (NH GOP Area Vice Chair) deflect in an answer back to John (Part 1) – well, the Platform hasn’t been updated because the NH GOP has a lot going on with the election, so get back to work and don’t worry your head about the NH GOP Platform.  Well, that blow off didn’t set well – nor should it have.  Ticking off someone that HAS been doing the grunt work and the field work is not a great thing to “motivate” neither him or others now seeing this reprimand:

Coupled with organizing sign “plantings” in Districts Hills.-26 & senate D-12; placing not just one candidate’s signs but all, including D-38 (Kofalt & Edelblut)! Oops! I forgot: Scott Brown & “WALT”… they were NOT ‘planted’ by me, nor will they be.

Me work the Phone Bank? Been there…done that; my work is best performed in the field.

“This isn’t about being a “good Republican” it is all about being THEIR Republican”

Well another techie has let me know that he has contacted the NH GOP to offer his company’s services to fill in any time crunch on the part of the NH GOP and update the NH GOP Platform.  Oh, by the way, he’s no “extremist” – he was the NH GOP nominee for State Senate from my area last cycle. Oh, and Matt Mowers hasn’t even the manners to return a call to Josh, either.  Just like everyone who is calling in.

And they want the Liberty & Freedom (e.g., conservatives, libertarians, TEA Party, 9/12ers) to support the NH GOP candidates but can’t even bother to answer an email or a phone call from them?

This from Moe Lane at RedState and it has a couple of bon mots that caught my eye – but I do wonder if the Republican Elites will ever get the message he plainly states?

PPS: Believe it or not, I don’t enjoy writing posts like this.  The national committees provide indispensable assistance to campaigns, from expert advice to financial resources to supplementing volunteer networks. And I know that the rank-and-file folks are just trying to do their job.  But – and let us be honest, here – there is a broad sense of entitlement among the top level of permanent staff that is getting in the way of the committee’s ostensible purpose.  This is particularly obvious when it comes to their digital and social media outreach cadre, which apparently collectively thinks that the proper relationship between them and the Republican base should involve a leash.

Yeah, that’s been made clear over and over and over again.  Sit, sit…good boy.  Here, have a bone…no, wait, punch your ballot RIGHT HERE first…GOOD boy!

From Redstate (via Scotusblog), this snippet (in honor of Ed catching double voter Jared Cram – emphasis mine):

The Supreme Court, with two Justices noting dissents, on Wednesday afternoon allowed North Carolina to bar voters from registering and casting their ballots on the same day, and to refuse to count votes that were cast in the wrong polling places.  Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Sonia Sotomayor dissented.  The majority did not explain its action.

The order gives the state time to file an appeal from lower-court rulings striking down those two provisions, which were part of a larger, sweeping change in voting rights in the state.  If the Court grants review of the state’s appeal, the postponement will remain in effect until there is a decision.

Perfect!  Here in NH at the last election, we saw an incredible 100,000 same day registrations (where we have about 890,000 voters) – and finally being pushed into to, letters were sent out to verify those registrations – a LOT were undeliverable and no-returns, so voter fraud happens here as well.

Mark Shiffman, one of our friendliest rivals or least rivalrous friends at Front Porch Republic has posted some important reflections on Christian personhood and limited government.  Here’s a major take-away:

Over the course of the history of “Christendom” the consensus of limited government has been developed and maintained by the fact that the communion of personhood which constitutes the human transcendence of the state’s purview is sustained and publicly acknowledged in practices belonging to “civil society” (i.e. non-state practices and institutions).  That consensus is now disappearing, because the practices that cultivate and sustain our experiential awareness of our transcendent personhood are ceasing to shape our souls.

This is very well said in my view, and for that matter, just plain true.   The trick embedded in this formulation is a fragile dialectic between transcendence and immanence, religion and politics.  Liberty depends upon “personhood” understood as grounded in a personal God who absolutely transcends the political realm (and its “civil religion”); but at this same time this ground must be “public acknowledged” — it must be anchored in beliefs and practices that are shared by and authoritative for an actual community.  ”Civil Society” is the apparently simple name that we use for this fragile dialectic which holds together the beyond and the concretely authoritative.

Year after year New Hampshire ranks as one of the best states to live in for quality of life.  We consistently rank in the top three for health, wellness, income, and other factors, including low crime, lowest poverty rate , and lowest homicides per capita.  This year, 2014, we are again number #1 for quality of life, and don’t you just love the first reason why?

New Hampshire scored better than any other state for quality of life. No state had a lower homicide rate than New Hampshire, where there was just barely a single murder per 100,000 residents. Additionally, New Hampshire was also the top-ranked state for accessibility of services, with 79% of households reporting they had access to broadband, the highest in the United States. Further, New Hampshire ranked among the best states in most other measures considered by the OECD. The Granite State also had the nation’s lowest poverty rate in 2013, according to the Census Bureau, at just 8.7% of all residents.

Someone should map out the correlation between states where Democrats claim out-of-state gun groups are spending loads of cash to influence local elections and their homicide rates.
