Just this past Wednesday Hillary said:

“All my grandparents, you know, came over here and you know my grandfather went to work in lace mill in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and worked there until he retired at 65. He started there when he was a teenager and just kept going,” Clinton said.

What’s the deal with Democrat’s desire to be something they’re not?  It’s like a freaking psychosis.  A person elevates something to such an extent of idolatry, that they then pretend to be that something.  It draws them in, urges the person to attach themselves to it somehow.  It might be for selfish sinister reasons like pretending to be a Mexican to take advantage of a scholarships or something, or for more innocuous, banal reasons just to charge their self esteem.  Regardless, it’s shameful and really, it’s embarrassing.

The cases I’m thinking of are two Democrat women pretending to be a member of a self-perceived preferred group.  The most egregious, and quite frankly hilarious example, is the blond “woman of color” waif Elizabeth “Oklahoma crab farmer” Warren claiming she is indeed Cherokee… at least 1/32 Cherokee.  Thereby fully embracing the Nazi like “if one drop of blood is Jew, the body is a Jew” outlook.

I’m not kidding about the crab bit either.

There is an excellent account of this internecine feud within the ranks in George Nash’s book The Conservative Intellectual Movement since 1945.  Some conservatives supported Rand, others however, were in Whittaker’s camp, including some of the biggies.  One being Russell Kirk (Burkean champion) of whom Nash said, “While Kirk supported free enterprise and agreed with Rand’s criticism of collectivism, the amassing of wealth was simply not ‘the whole aim of existence’”  A reference to Burke’s “flies of a summer” line.

Naw, this head honcho of Breath New Hampshire shows that he’s failed.  That’s right, failed.  He can’t do his job to persuade you and I to stop doing what he thinks we should not.  Another NGO Nanny, this one is.  He has an Op-Ed in the (wait for it….wait for it – the Paper of Record For NH Nannies) Concord Monitor.

Fortunately, New Hampshire was one of the first states to prohibit the sale of e-cigarettes to minors under 18, and Breathe NH is proud to have been instrumental, along with members of our New Hampshire Youth Network, in helping to pass this law in 2010.

Yup, we couldn’t persuade (or, more likely, trust) stores to voluntarily restrict themselves to selling this merchandise.  Nor persuading parents to monitor their children (no trust there either – mere parents (/sarc)).  And with this, he admits he’s absolutely helpless in doing the same to his actual target audience.  Given the absolute failure, he turns to the force of law.  What a way to be a do-gooder.

MEXICO CITY – A caravan of 290 migrants led by Rev. Alejandro Solalinde left the southeastern Mexican town of Ixtepec on a journey to Mexico City, a march being closely monitored by police, the activist priest told Efe.

After departing on Wednesday morning, the group covered a distance of 12 kilometers (7.5 miles) to El Espinal, a hamlet just outside Juchitan de Zaragoza. Numerous security forces were deployed between those latter two towns in Oaxaca state

On April 10, the Mexican government notified Solalinde that any undocumented foreigners marching in the caravan will be deported.

Authorities also established checkpoints on the roads leading out of Ixtepec and have sought to impede the protest march since last week.

Back in February while researching this article I came across a bill in the New Hampshire Legislature to expand a tax credit that was due to be evaluated in 2015 and that my research suggested had failed to achieved any of its intended goals.

The Coös County job creation tax credit is on the top of the committee’s list for evaluation in 2015.  The credit is also part of a new piece of legislation that would expand the program into a second New Hampshire County.

(TWS) The second-time presidential candidate wants to “make even small-dollar donors feel like they are part of the inner circle.” Based on the campaign’s website, however, expectations for those “small-dollar donors” who speak Spanish are considerably lower than those for their English-speaking counterparts.

The main donation page for the site includes preset amount buttons for $5, $25, $50, $100, $500, $1,000 and the maximum for the primary election cycle, $2,700. However, the preset amounts for the Spanish language version of the donation page are significantly less: $3, $5, $10, $25, $50, $100 and $250. Both pages includes an “other” button where donors can fill in a different amount.

Yes, yesterday was Tax Day – the day that Progressives celebrate as the epitome of their philosophy of “it’s ours, stupid” (and give thanks to its sub-holiday, the  Current Tax Payment Act of 1943 which allowed the Feds to automatically take your money).  Your money?  The Feds’ money?  So, the Concord Monitor; where do YOU think it stands on this.  Yeah, I know, you get 1 guess and it doesn’t count (full editorial after the jump).  A couple of quick snippets to help your guess:

• The home mortgage interest deduction tops our list. It costs the Treasury about $75 billion per year...Most of this tax break goes to people who don’t need it
• Those deductions cost the Treasury nearly $60 billion per year and their fairness is questionable
• That tax break costs the feds about $150 million a year in lost revenue

See?  Now you know where the Concord Monitor stands on who should have first dibs on the money YOU earn.  By building the phrasing “costs the Treasury” in that fashion, the implication is Government should come first, should be placed first, before you and your family.  Not ONCE in its editorial is from WHOM is that money being taken.  No ONCE is there any outrage of how Government misspends that money.  Not once is there any compassion that perhaps, just perhaps, the people from whom that money is being taken just might actually need it more.

No less real than a Secretary of State who deletes all her emails is the inevitability of “Republicans for Clinton.” They’ll actually call themselves ‘Republicans for Hillary’ (or some such something like that) but this hardly matters. Regardless of who the Republican nominee is, even if it is someone a lot like Hillary, there will be people in New Hampshire “registered” as Republicans who will throw their support behind Monica’s boyfriend’s wife.

The media is already looking for them, as noted by Hot Air’s Jazz Shaw in a tweet from earlier today, so we should make a game of figuring out who these “Republicans” will be.
