Gasp! MSNBC Panelist Says Hillary Should Emulate Palin’s Authenticity

It took nearly seven years, but at long last it’s finally been heard — praise for Sarah Palin on MSNBC.

Even better, one of the people praising Palin — and there were three, count ’em, three libs on the Lean Leftward cable network today doing so — suggested that flailing Democrat Hillary Clinton could do worse than to look toward Palin as a political model to emulate.

The post is ga-ga over that someone from the uber-Left media finally said something nice about Sarah Palin.  I think they missed the important point about the Left itself.

Blogline of the Day – Caring is forced to be on bended knee to the State

“You see, for years being a leftist has been a positional good. What I mean is for years (probably more than a century) it’s been assumed that the caring, etc. man is the one who wants to subjugate humans to the whim of the state.” As opposed, you know, being self-responsible and self-governing. But the … Read more

Target Shooting Ban Of Another Color

“Despite the enormous role that local government plays in our daily lives, the constitution makes not one mention of it.” Anthony Albanese

Target ShootingHunting has been spared…or has it? Last night, the Londonderry Town Council voted 4-0, to restrict “target shooting” in the 1,000-Acre Musquash Conservation Land in Londonderry, NH.  Non-Hunting target shooters are effectively banned. Period.

Are The Oceans Getting More Acidic?

No more or less than usual. Recent journal articles and media headlines have used “more” or “increasing” with “acid” as a root for a supposed lowering of the average pH of the oceans from 8.2 to 8.1. I say, “supposed,” because Sverdrup et al. (1963) state, “The pH encountered in the sea is between about … Read more

Latest Planned Parenthood Video From CMP – “..because the headlines would be a disaster.”

There’s a new one, and you can watch it below. Pull quotes courtesy of “Hot Air.”

“We’ve just been working with people who want particular tissues, like, you know, they want cardiac, or they want eyes, or they want neural,” says Dr. Westhoff to a prospective fetal organ buyer. “Certainly, everything we provide–oh, gonads! Oh my God, gonads. Everything we provide is fresh.”

I have been talking to the executive director of the National Abortion Federation, we’re trying to figure this out as an industry, about how we’re going to manage remuneration, because the headlines would be a disaster.”

Breaking – Leadership Pens Budget Deal With Hassan (Updated: Message From Bill O’Brien)

We talked about this with Max Saturday morning and look!, the day before veto override day and it’s here.  A backroom budget deal.

The big reveal is sometime today so it’s hard to say what’s what but the Union Leader has this.

Business tax cuts touted by Republicans as a way to improve the state’s business climate would have to reach revenue thresholds or lawmakers would intervene under a compromise reached Tuesday on the state’s $11.35 billion, two-year budget.

Here’s my response on Facebook (H/T to Jeanine Notter for the link.)

Abortion and the Socialist

Bernie SandersBernie Sanders, Socialist Democrat, spoke at Liberty University today (the largest evangelical private university in the US).  I have to give him a bit of cred, given that he went to a place where Democrats or Socialists don’t ordinarily go.  I’m not going post up all of his talk but I will concerning this from CBS News reporting:

The importance of the issue of abortion, for example, was made clear Monday when the crowd erupted into raucous applause as David Nasser, the senior vice president for spiritual development at Liberty who engaged Sanders in a question and answer session following his speech, asked Sanders to explain his stance on abortion.

“My view is I respect absolutely a family that says no we are not going to have an abortion,” Sanders said, recognizing that “this is an area” where his view would not match his audience’s. “I would hope that other people respect the very painful and difficult choice that many women feel they have to make and don’t want the government telling them what they have to do.”

“I respect absolutely a family that says no ” – but that isn’t the point!

‘“…insufficient respect” for the Republican establishment.’

David BrooksThis smacks high on both a fawning level of royalty and a big gob of Republican Republicans for the sake of the Republican Party:

New York Times columnist David Brooks chastised supporters of Dr. Ben Carson and Donald Trump for showing “insufficient respect” for the Republican establishment. “It’s like a mutiny, not a campaign,” Brooks said on Sunday’s Meet the Press.”The problem is, there’s an illusion in this country, and in the Republican base, that you can govern by screaming.”

Carly is no Jeb, by a long shot

Trump has made Jeb Bush look like a beta-male and the third in the dynastic family has had nothing in the quiver with which to fire back with.  Nothing Jeb has done has helped.  Ditto for some of the other folks that have attracted Trumps sarcastic defining words.  Thus, I have to hand it to … Read more

European Muslim Invasion – happening too fast and too many

I reject the idea that it’s “racist” to want to preserve one’s national culture and character (especially in language), or to favor bona fide citizens for gainful employment…. National boundaries will be defended. Sentimentalists will have to step aside. History is not a bedtime story about bunnies and kittens.

(H/T: Powerline).  Problem with the above, our “elites” consider this oh so old fashioned and unenlightened.

It certainly has been quite hard to keep up with what seems to be a massive tsunami of muslim migrants news coming out of Europe.  Given the number of NON-Syrian “refugees”, what we are seeing are mostly men looking for a better life without following The Rule of Law – an abstract notion from whence they come so one should be rightly concerned whether or not this vital aspect of Western Liberalism (or should that be “formerly”?) will be inculcated.  Along with other Western ideals – which, pretty much, are hated in the muslim world.  So what does this portend?

The Problem With Perry

From a Conservative Blogger inside Texas, on Governor Rick Perry He was a champion on pro-Life issues, and he never raised taxes (in a consequential manner) or made pre-K an emergency item. In partisan fights against the Democrats, he was a reliable ally. Unfortunately, both in Texas and Nationally, the most important fights are no … Read more

Transgender Jailhouse Rock

prison-01

Kaitlin Jenner is a guy who is sexually attracted to women, but likes to play dress-up and pretend to be a woman. Whatever. But if you are the relative of a female (from birth) family member sent to jail do you want someone like that milling about in the general population at the women’s prison? That’s the plan in San Francisco, where,

county jails will be among the first in the nation to house transgender inmates by their gender preference, Sheriff Ross Mirkarimi said Thursday.

Says one California State Senator to Another: “Hey, here’s an idea! Let’s BAN Donald Trump from California!”

The following is an excerpt from a California Senate Resolution, (CR 39), dated September 10, 2015 where the Senate is resolved to condemn the speech of Donald Trump *and* divest of any and all of Donald Trump’s businesses and its affiliates in California. Apparently, Donald Trump exercising his First Amendment Right is tweaking the noses of (ALL!) California Democrat State Senators, who voted in favor of this Resolution. (Most Republicans abstained. I’m wondering who didn’t?) Interestingly, by deigning to associate in a quasi-positive manner with The Donald, Ted Cruz’s name was originally included as part of this condemnation.
