Rule #1 May describe the relationship that the GOP thinks it has with Trump

RULE 1: “Power is not only what you have, but what the enemy thinks you have.” Power is derived from 2 main sources – money and people. “Have-Nots” must build power from flesh and blood. (These are two things of which there is a plentiful supply. Government and corporations always have a difficult time appealing to people, and usually do so almost exclusively with economic arguments.)

I’m gonna file this under Humor. There might be another Rule, but it escapes me right now.  Anyways, I once had a quick discussion with Corey Lewandowski – Trump’s campaign manager – about the rocket ride he was on.  I DID ask about, as being the campaign manager, how it was to be trying the manage The Donald (er, tongue in cheek).  I got the very answer I expected: with a slight chuckle, he said “No one manages Mr. Trump“.

Hmm, the national GOP seems to believe it does (reformatted, emphasis mine):

The Republican National Committee (RNC) thinks it has leverage to control GOP frontrunner Donald Trump’s messaging if he were to be the party’s nominee heading into the general election, according to Politico.

Hmm, that other Rule just keeps escaping me – what EVER could it be?  Oh well, back to the rest of the post:

Oh Bernie? I think the Healthcare narrative is changing under your feet!

Bernie would be Bernie Sanders, the Socialist Communist in Democrat wolf’s fur.  He of the “everything’s FREE in America” bent – until the bill comes due.  Given that he’s appealing to the economic and history idiots in the country, he’s gained a lot of traction especially when he wants a single payer healthcare system here in the US.  Yup, instead of you and I choosing for ourselves, he is going to haul butt in changing Obamacare by supercharging it to “Medicaid for all!”.  Has he ever tried to USE Medicaid?   Probably not but he ideological bent in forcing us all into will not relent as he wants us to adopt a Nordic style healthcare and holds it up all the time.

Problem is, they are moving away from that which he touts:

Sweden Is Upgrading to Private Healthcare

…Sweden’s insurance trade industry organization, Svensk Försäkring reports:

The number of private health care insurance policies has increased in recent years. In 2011 about 440,000 people had private health care insurance. Most of these people have their policy paid by their employer. Additionally, The Local recently reported that nearly “One in ten Swedes now has private health insurance,” with rising policy demand extending to half a million Swedes and growing throughout the 9.5 million living in the country.

Oh Bernie? Emulating Obama with your campaign donations?

Bernie Amerika flagSure, Obama set the precedent by accepting illegal campaign donations and now is the news that his ideological sojourner, Bernie Sanders, is cutting corners and doing the same, proving that Socialists are just dandy with the phrase “laws are for little people” (reformatted, emphasis mine):

Feds Flag Thousands of Illegal Bernie Sanders Contributions

FEC sends second letter this month to Sanders campaign noting prohibited contributions

SECOND letter?  You mean this is not an original problem?  And Bernie continues to break the law?  To flout The Rule of Law that he has sworn to uphold?  And now is accused of the Obama crime?  Clean that shocked look off my face:

Feb 27th, 2016 Podcast

AFP State director Greg Moore co-hosts as we welcome guests Chrissy Harbin, Stacy McCain, Michelle Levell, and Ed Naile, to talk about asset forfeiture, internet taxes, the newest Project Veritas  vote fraud video, school choice, and getting banned from twitter. It’s Talk Radio done “Right!”

Watching over our own Government?

On those rare occasions when social movements inspire large segments of the public to become involved in politics, it is because some large, glaring injustice stirs our passions. But no one will become passionate about monitoring a thousandth of the daily activities of government. To propose that the general public voluntarily sacrifice large portions of their lives to the task of studying such tedious matters as the provisions of the latest farm bill, all so that each can have a microscopic chance of improving a microscopic fraction of government policies, is at least as utopian as proposing that we all simply agree henceforth to work selflessly for the good of society.

It is HARD to keep up with proposed legislation and regulation and harder STILL to go back and ask “Did it do what it was supposed to do?  Did it do it WITHOUT evil unintended consequences?  And did it stay within budget”?  Rarely is the answer to these is yes and I could probably say no to all three and be right 90% of the time – but that would be trite.

Trumpkins Make Me Laugh

donaldtrumpThe funniest thing I heard this week, even though the Resting Bitch Face thing was mighty amusing, was a Trump supporter complaining about the name calling directed at them and their favored candidate.

Whether you like the guy for the job or not, Mr. Trump (and many of his supporters) have ‘Borked’ the opposition at every opportunity. Engaged in or advocated left-wing Lawfare intimidation tactics. Encouraged name-calling and insulting behavior.

Abortion Clinics Are Closing At Record Rates

baby-steps

In an article about another year in which a record number of US abortion clinics closed their doors,  Bloomberg Business opened with this…

Abortion access in the U.S. has been vanishing at the fastest annual pace on record, propelled by Republican state lawmakers’ push to legislate the industry out of existence.

Propelled by Republican state lawmakers. Propelled. That makes quite a political statement does it not? Sets the tone. You’re either thinking, YEAH! close those damn murder factories, or #@$!!*&^@!! women-hating Republicans.

Sorry to break your water but a few paragraphs after this, Bloomberg exposes what can be only be called, in this context, much bigger propellers, and Democrats should be ecstatic.

Liberty – lessened when Crony Capitalism meets Crony Government

SeatBelt - its the Law!Here in the land of “Live Free or Die”, we still have this Liberty that others have been denied:

The federal seat-belt-law mandate was the result of a 1980s deal between Reagan-era Transportation secretary Elizabeth Dole (proof, long before Mayor Bloomberg, that nanny-state tendencies transcend partisan labels) and Detroit automakers, who calculated that regulating their customers would help stave off regulating their own design decisions. And now?

Yep, a Big Govt politician turned bureaucrat conspired with Big Biz cronies to get a result THEY wanted – via regulation.  Not by our elected leaders.  So far, NH has said “screw you” and resisted the siren call to make it mandatory for adults to click in when car traveling.  That’s even after the Feds offered the State “free money” to help out with the budget with the strings attached that it had to force its residents to wear seatbelts – if I remember right, the bribe to do it the Feds’ way was about $3.65 / person.  Cheap, eh, the offer to strip that decision from adults to protect themselves or not?

Clueless Reporter tries to report into nationally known anti-gunner news anchor

The Washington Free Beacon published a “rough transcription” of what transpired:

That’s the transcript from the video that’s after the jump. What the HECK did this nitwit think, doing a video / audio LIVE report standing in an active indoor firing range with next to multiple lanes occupied by shooters? I guess this guy decided that “looking cool at the range” would be just dandy for someone that obviously hasn’t shot much and obviously had no information on which to think this through – or WAY too much faith in his microphone and recorder.

We keep hearing that a good guy with a gun can’t stop a bad guy with a gun; really?

From Big Government – another example of “Decisions have consequences” (emphasis mine, reformatted): The incident occurred just after 8 p.m.  According to WCCO, the concealed permit holder was standing at the end of a driveway when a 20-year-old male allegedly “tried to rob him at gun point.” The permit holder then pulled his own gun, shots … Read more

GAO Reports Massive ObamaCare Fraud

The Government Accountability Office released a report confirming what we’ve warned all along.
