Medicaid Expansion is 49% More Expensive Than Originally “Estimated.”

Medicaid Expansion is 49% more expensive than originally estimated. According to the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Medicaid expansion costs are much higher than predicted — not that HHS has been eager to share that information. Brian Blase, a senior research fellow at the Mercatus Center at George Mason University, reviewed the department’s latest actuarial … Read more

American Sniper Star Attends Democratic National Convention

“It doesn’t matter that the way of life shown by Hollywood was phony. It helped you hope.” -Manuel Puig, Argentinian Author

American Sniper star Bradley Cooper attended the Democratic National Convention and Some

Phony
Bradley Cooper at the Democratic National Convention.

in Mid-America are coming unhinged. Why are the fly-overs and conservatives so upset? WHY?  Why?…. when our true American Heroes…(such as “the real deal,” Chris Kyle), when personified by stage and screen actors, suddenly become those heroes? Why? for God sakes, are people losing their minds?

Bradley Cooper is an Actor. Actors, “Act.” Lets give him props for the splendid job he did…”acting”. Actors are professional phonies. Actors get paid to be something they are not! Matt Damon and all his Jason Bourne identities

Why I Will Vote For Frank Guinta

“Be moderate in prosperity, prudent in adversity.”  -Periander

guintaI’ve been closely watching Congressman Guinta’s voting record over this last term. Guinta has clearly corrected himself on many of the votes that drew ire from many of his conservative constituents. He had the tribulation of his FEC issue and is now past it (I think…although, if it were CSP, it would have gone away quicker and would have been minimized by Ray Buckley).

Two “Tells” of Progressives and Statists (but I repeat myself)

From the Washington Post, a headline that just drips Progressivism:

“We need to eat less meat. Should the government step in?”

Uh-huh – got it.  Ah….no.  Certainly it is beyond discussion that to say that the WashPo leans Left is like saying the Tower of Pisa isn’t straight. So this Laura Wellesley morphs herself into a Nanny State – “You don’t need that” (THE tell that screams “I’m a Progressive so you DON’T know what’s best for you”) nag as if she should be the boss of us all (emphasis mine, reformatted):

Meat consumption in the United States — and across much of the Western world — has reached a level that is unsustainable, both for our planet and for our health. We owe it to ourselves to make a change. Our politicians owe it to us to enable that change.

First off, anytime I hear “unsustainable”, I immediately think “Hope & Change” which translates to

He who controls the past controls the future

Socialism is the New SlaveryAnd if you have been listening, I’ve been decrying the wholesale demolition of our education system for years, particularly our own country’s history and the reasons behind it.  I’ve posted numerous videos of simple history questions asked in man-in-the-street interviews and pretty much, they are complete disasters, especially when young adults are the deer-in-headlights victims. At such a mass level, it can’t just be a random act here and there.  One teacher’s lament (emphasis mine):

DISPATCHES FROM THE EDUCATION APOCALYPSE: “I started giving quizzes to my juniors and seniors. I gave them a ten-question American history test… just to see where they are. The vast majority of my students – I’m talking nine out of ten, in every single class, for seven consecutive years – they have no idea that slavery existed anywhere in the world before the United States. Moses, Pharaoh, they know none of it. They’re 100% convinced that slavery is a uniquely American invention… How do you give an adequate view of history and culture to kids when that’s what they think of their own country – that America invented slavery? That’s all they know.”

And that’s just the first step in how the US is THE evil in the world today.

Hey, a mini-gun for the rest of us!

I’m not sure I could afford the price of the ammo utilization, though: The XM556 Microgun was designed and engineered around the 5.56mm NATO cartridge. This defensive suppression weapon is significantly smaller and lighter than it’s big brother the M134. It was meant to stand in place of anywhere high suppressive fire wanted without the weight or … Read more

They see racism around every corner. And now, each thread…

Melania white dress GOP ConventionUPDATE: Hillary Clinton just gave her Democrat Prez nomination acceptance speech – in a white pant suit

**************

Sheesh – talk about race obsessed? Emphasis mine:

Philadelphia Inquirer columnist: Dress Melania Trump wore during RNC speech was racist

…According to Elizabeth Wellington, fashion writer at the Philadelphia Inquirer, the dress Melania wore was an example of the racism of both the Republican Party and Donald Trump (h/t Freedom Outpost):

So while Trump appeared flawless on the Cleveland stage Monday night, whether she intended it or not, her all-white ensemble displayed the kind of foreignness that is accepted by her husband’s political party. To many, that outfit could be another reminder that in the G.O.P. white is always right.

Four years ago, Republicans fretted about trying to diversify their base, in the wake of Barack Obama’s clear voter mandate. This time around, with Trump at the top of the ticket, it’s obvious that ship has sailed. On Monday night, Melania Trump was a not-so-subliminal billboard for what’s looking like the Trumpian view of an ideal America.  And if that’s the fashion statement she intended to make, it’s a very scary one.

Sheesh – talk about race obsessed? Just over the color of a dress?  Hey, sometimes, a dress is just a dress – like this one:

Notable Quote – Robert Solow

It is very hard to be against sustainability. In fact, the less you know about it, the better it sounds. (H/T: Cafe Hayek)

Data Point – Hurricanes hitting the US

No major hurricane has made landfall in the continental United States for a record-breaking 129 months, according to data going back to 1851 compiled by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). The last major hurricane to make landfall on the continental United States was Hurricane Wilma, which slammed into Florida on Oct. 24, 2005–129 months ago. … Read more

Sums up the Democrat Party in one Tweet

Crowd chanting “USA! USA!” Delegate in front of me stands up and yells, “Stop that! That’s a Trump chant!” #DNCinPHL — Shannon Bream (@ShannonBream) July 28, 2016 Maybe they should have chanted ‘CUBA! CUBA!’ That’s more along the lines of the Democrat-type of government.

Is NH’s Hands-Free Law Working?

distracted-drivers-infographic
Distracted driving is a factor in 80% of crashes, Just not in New Hampshire, maybe.

A day before the one-year anniversary of the “Hands-Free Law” the NH Union Leader reported an increase in collisions and deaths on New Hampshire roads. Three days later the Nashua Telegraph posted a report titled “NH sees fewer road deaths since law took effect in 2015.”

The Hands-Free law prohibits the handling of portable electronic devices by the drivers of motor vehicles. The law is meant to reduce collisions and fatal accidents by prohibiting people from the devil of distraction. So has it made things better or has it made things worse?

Maggie Hassan has a problem with her husband’s ‘sex scandal’ cover up

maggie hassan

Yesterday a new political poll was released by the NH Journal and Inside Sources for the 2016 election. One of the questions surveyed specifically asked about Maggie Hassan and her husband, Tom Hassan’s, sex scandal cover up related to Phillip’s Exeter.

In case you were unaware, a woman came forward claiming she had an inappropriate relationship with a member of the faculty at Phillips Exeter when she was a teenager. It’s unclear why it’s called a “sex scandal” and not sex abuse since the man clearly held power over the young woman. That man’s name is Rick Schubart.

Was NH Democrat Party In On Hillary Victory Fund Deception?

Clinton Victory Fund memeThe Hillary Victory Fund is getting unwanted exposure as a result of the DNC Email hack. And look! The New Hampshire Democrat Party was part of what appears to be some underhanded campaign finance foolishness.

The emails show the officials agreeing to withhold information from reporters about the Hillary Victory Fund’s allocation formula, working to align their stories about when — or if — the DNC had begun funding coordinated campaign committees with the states. They also show one official blaming Sanders for putting the DNC between “a real rock vs hard place” by forcing “a fight in the media with the party bosses over big money fundraising.”
