Gee, I Wonder What He Was Up To In New Hampshire?

ScotlandNew Hampshire is such a politically active state. We draw people interested in politics from all over.

Want proof? How about the four Australian Labor Party activists who came to NH to work on the Bernie Sanders campaign. They were out knocking on doors, hanging up Bernie literature – stealing Hillary literature and signs, etc., all the things good volunteers do.

How can a gal compete with four talented Australians working on an opponent’s campaign? You might say, “Why not go get your own foreign political saboteurs.”

Apparently, Hillary did enlist some Labour Party help of her own – from Scotland.

Do It For The Children – MoveOn Teaches Hate

(Notice how Heather Can’t Use Her Last Name, But She Wants YOURS!)

Printed below is your standard MoveOn money raising, data collecting email:

Dear MoveOn member,

I’m Heather C., a MoveOn member and Girl Scouts troop leader, and I started a petition to Sylvia Acevedo, Interim Chief Executive Officer of Girl Scouts of the USA, which says:

By marching in Donald Trump’s inaugural parade, you are failing to live up to Girl Scout of the USA’s values. Please do not make GSUSA party to normalizing racism, misogyny, and fascism. Do not march in the inaugural parade.

See, It’s Not Just New Hampshire – California Underestimated Medicaid Costs Too…

Where Trump should build the wall
Now, more than ever, this is where Trump should build the wall

The incoming Sununu administration discovered a $65 million dollar hole at the New Hampshire Department of Inhumanly High Health Services ((NHD(i)HHS)) thanks mostly to expanded Medicaid costs they had not anticipated. Seriously? We here in our humble shop knew it would happen from day one. We knew that the Federal contribution wasn’t “Free Money™.” And we have predicted, some with more diligence than others, that left to its devices it would be the end of New Hampshire’s no tax advantage.

All of these things are true no matter how smart our detractors think they are or the vocabulary used to disagree with us and the NHDHHS Budget bomb is more proof.

Now. If you’d like to see what this will look like down the road, California is proving once again to be an excellent example of what happens when you let liberal ideas and progressive narratives drive your decision making.

Blogline of the Day – Gaiety (gaity??) in the streets!

On the news that LGBT Activists Throw ‘Queer Dance Party’ at VP-Elect Pence’s House.

Don Surber in the comments for the win: “I always said gay people would be dancing in the streets with the election of President Trump. And I was right!”

Heh!  (H/T: Instapundit)  This will be a repeating post today – have a bunch stacked up in a pile.

The left’s strategy is simple – deny normal Americans normalcy. After all, that’s what we really want, a return to normal…

…And we’re sick of it. #ThisIsWhyYouGotTrump

We want to return to normality, and in an ironic twist of fate it was Donald Trump, the most unnormal guy imaginable, who promised it. Hillary Clinton promised more war and more weakness, more of the same economic malaise that has left most of America suffering, and much, much more of the same cultural scolding and calculated oppression of anyone so subhuman as to not live in a city and believe there are only two sexes. Trump committed to return to America’s normal state of economic prosperity, to America’s normal state of military supremacy abroad, to America’s normal state of self-confidence in our own exceptionalism. And we wanted to go back to a time where creepy activists weren’t trying to shoehorn men in skirts into our little girls’ locker rooms.

Normalcy. It’s what we want, and liberals want to deny it to us in order to doom Donald Trump and reopen their path back into power.

Democrats – the Party of the old

socialismIdeas, that is.  The UL has a snippet or so of the different caucuses (cauci?) that exist in the NH House – like minded legislators flocking together around a single or set of ideas.  There are a few but this not only grabbed my attention but puts the difference between those of us who put Liberty & Freedom first and believe in the philosophy of the Constitution (e.g., a document that LIMITS what Government can do TO you (e.g. negative Rights) and those Statists that believe that NOTHING should ever limit what Government SHOULD do FOR you (positive Rights (which used to be called “the dole” but again, the Left has corrupted our common language).

The difference is vast – those of us that maintain the original ideas of American Exceptionalism and those Socialists that hold to the ancien regimes coming out of Europe.  Individuals first vs Government first. And yes, there is the obligatory mention of FDR in there in describing the “Economic Justice Caucus” (e.g., just another euphemism for “we’re Socialists!”).  So who are these Compassionate Totalitarians:

There are many special-interest caucuses operating in the House, some of which come and go over the years as the issues change. The Democrats have never had a special-interest caucus with the staying power of the HRA, but former gubernatorial candidate Jacalyn Cilley of Barrington, a two-term state senator now serving her third term in the House, hopes to change that.

Along with Kermit Williams, a third-term state rep. from Wilton, she started the Economic Justice Caucus in April. Cilley has since been elected chair and Williams vice-chair for the upcoming session.

Carol Shea-Porter Too Much of a Coward to Attend Trump Inauguration

carolsheaporter

I’m not surprised to hear that on-again-off-again congresscritter Carol Shea-Porter (D-NH) is skipping Trump’s Inauguration. She is a partisan hack and a coward. You’ll never find her anywhere she might get seriously challenged. She doesn’t do public events unless she can control them, there will be no questions, or the questions are softballs. The only reason she shows up for “work” at all, that being her taxpayer funded day-job, is because she can sequester herself in the protective custody of Democrats like herself.

Dr. Bjorn Lomborg on UN Climate Treaty – extremely little bang for Trillions of dollars spent

Statistician: UN climate treaty will cost $100 trillion – To Have No Impact – Postpone warming by less than four years by 2100

Bjorn LomborgEr, why?  Economists (and families around the kitchen table) know something that politicians don’t* – cost/benefit analysis count.  Real ones, that is and not just the “made it up for the agenda” purpose.  Lomborg has taken it on the chin for years on climate change – he believes it is and Man may have something to do with it.  His believes, however, that it would be cheaper not to do what the greenies want but other things would have a bigger effect worldwide.  It’s the “opportunity cost” – what is the cost of the thing that you don’t do when you are doing this other thing.  That said, this will STILL get the climatistas’ panties in a wad over this ROI (Return On Investment) statement (emphasis mine):

Danish statistician Dr. Bjorn Lomborg, the President of the Copenhagen Consensus Center: ‘We will spend at least one hundred trillion dollars in order to reduce the temperature by the end of the century by a grand total of three tenths of one degree…the equivalent of postponing warming by less than four years…Again, that is using the UN’s own climate prediction model.’

I could think of a LOT of things that could be done

Blogline of the Day – Obama is always blaming someone else for his inadequacies

And this time, it was about the partisanship in Washington DC.  And this time, he decided to pick on Rush Limbaugh.  Who, of course, has a great sense of repartee: Limbaugh added that it is “noteworthy” that Obama “exempts himself from any of the reasons for partisanship.” “Poor Obama,” he said. “Most powerful man in … Read more

Riffing off of Ellen’s post on the so called “Womens March”…

Ellen’s post here.  In other words, “you have to be one of OUR special kind of women”….and that depends solely on their own special definition of “inclusive” (which doesn’t seem to be that to most people). A projected end-of-year surplus, previously estimated as high as $130 million, does not exist, [Sununu] said. “I’m not sure if it ever existed. Right to Work states spend less on education, get more value for students

RTWSpendingScoresbyState

On Thursday Senate Bill 11, AN ACT prohibiting collective bargaining agreements that require employees to join or contribute to a labor union, is scheduled to be voted on by the entire New Hampshire Senate. It was voted Ought To Pass out of committee by a party line vote of 3-2. As the Right to Work (RTW) debate heats up in New Hampshire, unions are pushing statements about RTW states that are either untrue or don’t give the complete picture. One of those statements is that Forced Union states (like New Hampshire) spend more money on education than RTW states. That’s all they claim without adding anymore information. Political Buzz decided to verify the statement and then analyze the data to see how the states scored in education testing.

Report: Schools Are Teaching Kids To Hate America

By Joy Pullmann – The Federalist This new, anti-American approach is supplanting traditional civics—teaching kids about the structure and ideals of American government, basics about her history, and citizenship duties such as military service, voting, and jury duty. Poor civics instruction has increased over the past half-century, likely contributing to the broad decline of American … Read more

Dinosaur Media Peddles Fake News…

Dan RatherThe media and Democrats doth protest too much about fake news. They are, after all, the masters of the craft.

(The Federalist) The “fake news” hysteria came, after all, from the same people who previously brought us “fake but accurate.” If you don’t remember that phrase, here’s a refresher. In the 2004 election, CBS’s Dan Rather tried to pass off forged Texas Air National Guard memos in an attempt to impugn the military record of George W. Bush. It was fake news, and it was specifically designed to tilt the results of a presidential election.
