It started with former NH State Rep Jan Schmidt. She’s a progressive mouth-breather politically and a poster child for the party mascot on social media. She also branded GraniteGrok as a hate site way back when which was repeated by several of her fellow mouth-breathers.
They say we are a hate site, which is amusing since most of them have never read a word we’ve written. I you asked them to cite examples, they’d hurl generalizations while gesticulating uncontrollably, shouting about racism or some such thing. It’s all very amusing to us and easy pickings on slow days because the fruit -rotten as it is – hangs so damn low.
Schmidtler, for example, announced one day – that we hate women, which is a strange thing to say about a website that has had (and has) many women writers and shares op-eds by women and always has (and yes, we know what a woman is). But how would she know? She’s never spent any time here and admitted as much. She just assumed that because we disagreed with her politically, made fun of her antics, and posted her voting record, we hated women.
The Southern Poverty Law Center – the Alpha and Omega for such things – disagrees. Given the opportunity to label GraniteGrok as a hate site, they opted for anti-government. Skip wrote about it here. Boiled down, our failure to toe the line on approved narratives (which we may even dare to contradict or debunk) makes us an anti-government group.
They misspelled “free speech advocate,” but that’s okay. Donors do not give to the SPLC so it can reward a defense of natural rights, constitutional values, or the distrust of any government that framed the founder’s vision for the American experiment that the SPLC and Jan Schmidt worked to undermine.
I am opposed to anarchy and a well-documented fan of limited government, which means I can’t possibly be anti-government, but I have not a care about the musings of the SPLC or Jan Schmidt or the regurgitations of her mouth-breathing political posterity. I am, however, inclined to avail myself of the opportunity provided by both to amuse myself and our readers.
Jan and her drove should be required to issue a retraction. According to the SPLC, we are not a hate site. We’re anti-government. Feel free to publish your apology and retraction at your convenience (that will be never), and we’re okay with that too. But if the SPLC can’t call us that, neither can you.
