The Climate Cult won’t like this news much. NOAA recently updated its Tide Gauge data. What post-ice age rise in sea level there is, continues at a mere few millimeters per year. There is no evidence of the tipping point acceleration nonsense peddled by the Planeteers.

The fifty-year trend shows a rise of 2.04 (Fort Point, NH) or 2.07 (Seavey Island, NH) millimeters per year through 2022. A statistical nothingburger measured against the Climate Cult’s apocalyptic rhetoric.
But something is alarming. When we isolate the last ten to twelve years of NOAA data, we get what looks like flat or declining sea level trends for the NH coastline.
Climate Rent-Seekers will be as quick to dismiss this pause as they are to ignore the latest decade-long temperature pause. They must, their way of life depends on government grants, and it’s not like they can ask Russia to invade them. But this is real, and it is a problem.
The rhetoric has again failed to live up to the facts. I’ve written hundreds of articles over fifteen years that include cultist prognostications that are not aging well.
Here are a few examples with a more local flavor.

And it is a global problem.
The data and projected trends for these ten well-documented coastal cities point to three conclusions:
-
- There has been no dramatic sea level rise in the past century, and projections show no dramatic rise is likely to occur in the coming century.
- There is no evidence to indicate the rate of sea level rise or fall in any of the areas of this study will be substantially different than has been the case over the past many decades.
- There is no correlation between CO2 concentrations in the atmosphere and sea level rise. The steady but modest rise in sea level predated coal power plants and SUVs, and has continued at its same pace even as atmospheric CO2 concentrations rose from 280 parts per million to 420 parts per million today .[9]
Woodshole near the Massachusetts cape has looked flat for the past five to seven years, while Boston has been flat for over a decade. That’s not just not accelerating; it’s not rising, so their lie will need to transition, but it won’t be so easy. Unlike the temperature pauses or more snow, each of which they have declared as proof of their unassailable hypothesis, rising seas need to rise.
The Left-wing activists at the Union of Concerned Scientists warned us in 2018 about what was needed to put a dent in the problem of rising seas.
The list of what would need to be done by 2020 — a little over two years from now — includes: Boosting renewable energy’s share to 30%. Pushing electric cars to 15% of new car sales, up from less than 1% today. Doubling mass transit use. Cutting air travel CO2 emissions by 20%. And coming up with $1 trillion for “climate action.”
It’s 2023, and we’ve done none of that. We’re not even close, while New Hampshire’s coastline has seen not an acceleration in rise but a decline bordering on sea level recession. CO2 and spending on things that are not green and don’t help are the only things on the rise.
It’s all a scam.
