Another Reason to Vote Out Democrats – The Potential for Rolling Blackouts in a New England Winter

ISO New England keeps saying they think the grid will be stable this winter, but they are lying. What the hell else would they say but we don’t have the energy infrastructure or the energy, and it’s a failure they’ve known about for a while—one which is almost entirely the fault of the political Left.

We’ve been on this story for years, but it’s been getting a lot of play on national sites because it’s a huge frikkin’ problem no one wants to take seriously.

The region faces a power crisis every winter because its power grid relies on NatGas and lacks pipeline infrastructure for domestic flows. Over the years, NatGas pipeline infrastructure has been delayed, blocked, or abandoned, which means the region’s power-grid operators have to compete in international markets for supplies.

One major problem is that power producers have limited NatGas storage facilities and lack pipeline capacity reserved mainly by utilities serving homes and businesses. Power producers procure a portion of supplies with fixed-price agreements and mostly rely on spot markets.

“Anybody who is depending on the spot market for their natural-gas supply is probably going to have a pretty significant sticker shock,” said Tanya Bodell, a partner at consulting firm StoneTurn who advises energy companies in New England.

That’s where we are.

Europe is screaming for Natural Gas, prices are skyrocketing, and our only backup is tankers from around the world and paying a huge price for that if we can get it.

Why?

The region’s power mix changes have left it increasingly reliant on international NatGas spot markets. State governors have asked US Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm to waive the Jones Act and allow foreign-owned tankers to ship LNG from the US Gulf region.

All of this has led to New England residents facing some of the highest electricity bills in years. Heating season is already underway.

Our so-called “leaders” wasted time, money, and energy on going green when they should have directed it at bringing in reliable electricity and domestic natural gas. Instead, we got protests from (primarily) the Left and almost no pushback from the right. The result is a confluence of problems that, given the global energy situation, will be bad come January when it gets cold and strains our fragile grid.

Idiots. By which, I mean Democrats; don’t vote for them and vote them out of office. That means our most vulnerable voters to whom the Left so often appeals. You’ve been beaten down with inflation, high food prices, unaffordable gas, and electric rates, and now this. Democrats are leaving you out in the cold. Perhaps you should return the favor (politically).
