Maggie Hassan has never been a supporter of actual women’s rights like the 2nd Amendment. In fact, as governor, she sided with NYC billionaire Michael Bloomberg and vetoed a bill that would have ended almost 100 years of discrimination against women (and others) by Chiefs of Police. Why?
For Granite Staters daring to want to practice their fundamental human right to self defense by carrying a firearm concealed without asking permission from discriminatory governmental bodies.
Hassan never ran on banning common firearms or limiting our ability to protect ourselves from the criminals her party loves. Apparently, she’s decided that taking away actual women’s rights and actual Constitutionally protected rights is now her ‘thing.’ Once again, siding with the extreme left.
Hassan is a co-sponsor of California Senator Dianne Feinstein’s semi-automatic rifle ban. But it doesn’t just ban common semi-automatic rifles, it also bans certain semi-automatic pistols, and shotguns, AND limits the number of rounds you can have in a magazine to 10. They even created a brand-new term for some semi-automatic rifles and pistols – “semiautomatic assault weapons.”
Somehow, Hassan and other extreme leftists can see into the future and know exactly how many rounds you’ll need to ward of an attacker or multiple attackers. Amazing, aren’t they?
Does Hassan forget she is supposed to ‘represent’ the Live Free or Die state? Does she not know that NH is consistently one of the safest states in the country, even WITH Constitutional Carry in place? Or has she decided to just go full blown left-wing extremist, despite her lies of ‘bipartisanship?’
Hassan also says she’s for a National Red Flag law, another Bloomberg-supported piece of gun control – a law that has nothing to do with safety and everything to do with gun CONFISCATION. Democrats passed Bloomberg’s Red Flag law in NH and the governor promptly vetoed it. Why? Because it violates our 1st, 2nd, 4th, 5th, and 6th Amendment Rights. Red Flag laws make Americans LESS safe and do more harm.
In a floor speech in 2018, Hassan brings up the Parkland killer and why she thinks Red Flag laws are needed:
To start, Mr. President, we know that the shooter in Parkland displayed warning signs that, if properly heeded and addressed, may have prevented the incident, the massacre. But when law enforcement was called because of these warning signs, it’s not clear that they had tools that would have allowed them to confiscate the shooter’s weapons…
So, one of the things we must do is ensure that every state has what are known as Red Flag Laws – laws which allow courts to issue time-limited restraining orders to restrict access to firearms when there is evidence that an individual is planning to harm them self or others.
Except, local law enforcement, school officials, AND the FBI all knew about the Parkland killer and did NOTHING even though Florida had laws in place that would have allowed them and/or his family to commit him for psychiatric help. The FBI had detailed information about the killer and chose not to act on it.
So of course, Hassan wants to confiscate your firearms without due process based on accusations that can be made by people who simply dislike your political views.
Democrats want Americans to give up their fundamental human right to self defense they are supposed to protect due to the ACTIONS of psychopaths and the INACTIONS of law enforcement.
