Twitter and the media are in a state of hysterics because Whoopi Goldberg claimed that Jews are not a race. ABC has suspended The VIew star for two weeks, causing her and her supporters to become incensed.
They are threatening to resign over this supposed injustice.
On the other side, calls for her to be fired are loud and numerous. What’s good for the goose, they say.
Looking at it logically, this is all the result of a Cancel Culture in which the Left has been indulging for years. It has come back to bite them and they don’t like it, not one bit.
Whoopi may not be the brightest bulb in the box, but even she should have known she was on thin ice trying to redefine a people who define themselves as the Jewish Race. Yes, it was callous and rude but to lose her job? Not sure that’s a good idea. It’s really a Leftist idea designed to silence Free Speech; I’m not in favor of that. Besides, she did more harm to herself than any loss of a job could do.
When she returns, if she does, her brand will be badly dented. Most Leftists have the annoying habit of assuming they are always right and on the high ground of all issues just because they say so. Whoopi exploded this in a sensational way which might be a lesson for others of her ilk.
For years. Cancel Culture has been demanding the firing of about every conservative commentator on radio, TV or print, the stacking Presidential candidate debates with liberal activists as moderators, and mainstream media colluding in all those effort.
Fox News is a perennial target of the incensed Leftists who don’t want to hear anything they disagree with. Twitter, Facebook, and other Leftist-driven social media routinely engage in censorship and banning outside their Narrative to stop any reasonable exchange of ideas.
When we regain Congress (hopefully in November), the new Congress should address these abuses in a meaningful, Constitutional legal way. Otherwise, the Leftist bandwagon will conduct business as usual: lie, smear, slander and cancel.
Don’t let that happen; get out the vote and reject our current Democrats who rubber-stamp every crazy leftist plan from Biden on down.
