More From Gun Safety Guru Alec Baldwin

Alec Baldwin has a new safety recommendation for Hollywood:

Every film/TV set that uses guns, fake or otherwise, should have a police officer on set, hired by the production, to specifically monitor weapons safety.

Maybe they could hire this officer.

Note that, like Baldwin, this officer made not one, not two, but three simultaneous mistakes:

(1) He thought the gun was unloaded when it wasn’t.  (He checked the chamber, but didn’t remove the magazine.  So when the slide moved forward, it loaded the next round from the magazine.)

(2) He pointed the gun at something that can’t be replaced (his foot).

(3) He had his finger on the trigger as he holstered the gun.

And, like Baldwin, this officer refers to what happened as an accident, when it was clearly negligence.

Yeah, having police officers monitor gun safety on television and movie sets… that’s going to help.
