During the week of Veterans Day (and Memorial Day) ALL New Hampshire PUBLIC SCHOOLS are required to teach the children the “words, meaning, and history” of the Pledge of Allegiance and The National Anthem. Many school teachers and administrators don’t know this is state law.
I think it’s a good idea for citizens to remind the school administrators, don’t you?
Are your schools complying with state law regarding Veterans Day instruction? If not, why not?
189:18 Patriotic Exercises. – In all public schools of the state one session, or a portion thereof, during the weeks in which Memorial Day and Veterans Day fall, shall be devoted to exercises of a patriotic nature, which shall include a discussion of the words, meaning, and history of the Pledge of Allegiance and the Star Spangled Banner.
