Continuing to dominate the political bandwidth in New Hampshire means we try things, and they do not always work as planned. Auto-opening in a new tab when you click any link, for example. We did away with that after a month or so.
Now it is set for external links to open in a new tab. Internal links will open in the existing page unless you right-click and select “open in a new tab” yourself or the author set the link to open in a new tab (I do that a lot).
Then there’s this.
Parler.
I get that it is still a work in progress (aren’t we all), and we are not bailing on Parler, but I have stopped updating content on my Parler page for a while. It was becoming more work than it was worth.
This is a hobby, not an occupation (at least not yet), and there is no dividend in having my Parler page hanging or refusing to load or publish the stuff we are sharing for days at a time or just random refusals.
You can find our content on any of these platforms, but it’s easier if you just come directly to GraniteGrok.com. I no longer share every post on every forum, so if you rely on them, you’ll miss things. If you wish to comment here, you will need to have a Disqus account.
If you are a nasty troll, we will punt you off the site.
The FAQ page has been updated, so check that out when you have a moment. We have updated the information about Comments, Sharing, and there is a new Disclaimer.
We are aware of the “404 Page Not Found” problem and that it may result in the firewall locking your out for up to six hours. The primary source is missing image library items (pictures), and we are working to correct this.
We’re still accepting op-eds and group communications which we publish at our discretion (timing and interest also matter).
We added SeacoastGrok a few weeks back and will be converting the GilfordGrok site into LakesRegionGrok. We have a lot of content in the area, and most of it has little to do with Gilford and much to do with the region. It just makes sense to change that, and we will.
The GrokAPP has been relegated to a dark and dusty closet as other matters demanded our attention. Do not look for that this year.
We do still sell add space for raffles, local groups, and events.
Grok runs on donations and ad revenue, and we appreciate you looking to us to get your message out. We do still have some of the best online traffic in the state; we are just lousy at selling ad space. Again, hours in the day, and we prefer writing to fishing for ads.
If you have one you’d like to run, email us at editor@granitegrok.com, and we’ll work out the pricing (assuming it’s agreeable to do so).
And finally, but not lastly, thanks for reading. Our traffic is up again, and we appreciate you making time in your day to spend it here with us.
