We’ve passed legislation prohibiting the mandatory vaccination of public employees in New Hampshire. They can volunteer for the Jab but cannot be made to get one. South of our border, however, is a different story. Gov. Baker wants them all jabbed, and the unions are pushing back.
Workers choice? From Unions?
Unions representing Correction, the State Police Association, and even a Transit authority union have said hell no to Charlie Bakers Executive order. One union indicated that it would pursue all legal and legislative remedies to halt the mandate.
The theme appears to be no thanks; we’ve got this.

The State police already claim to have a majority of Troopers vaccinated by choice. According to the Boston Herald, they are not tracking it, but over 2000 of them have had at least one shot.
Other unions may be in the same boat or, and I hope this is the case -a strange as it would sound coming from union bosses – this, at least, should be optional.
Or at least negotiable.
The MBTA union indicates that it will not just agree without negotiation. That means they could sign on and bail on health choice or worker choice with the right concessions.
Maybe it’s not opposite day after all. Union bosses are willing to barter away their worker’s choice not to get jabbed if the”price” is right.
Correct me if I’m wrong but isn’t that a little bit like what corporations are accused of as justification for the need to unionize to protect “workers’ rights” in the first place?
