Introducing Our Newest Microsite in New Hampshire – SeacoastGrok

Not everyone realizes this, but GraniteGrok has satellites. We call them MicroGrok’s or MGs. We’ve been muddling around with them for more than a year but with a goal and a purpose. To create local focal points for Conservatarian news and opinion.

And we just cracked the seal on a Seacoast site.

SeacoastGrok went live last night. I’ve spent some time managing NH Seacoast content already published at GraniteGrok so that it appears on those pages. But the long game is to do that in reverse.

We want the satellite sites operating on their own with local residents reporting news and writing stories that they publish on a MicroGrok. Local issues, meetings, conflicts, elections, victories, and failures.

Build your audience with news that matters to locals—audio, video, and articles on local politics and culture, candidates, elections, and more.

We (at the mothership) can then pull content from them to the main site when warranted, and you could discover that your Local news is now national news.

We currently have MG’s in Nashua, Manchester, Windham, Monadnock, Gilford (Lakes Region), and now the Seacoast.  A NorthCountry Grok is in the works as well.

The decision to create one is simple. Is there a need (the answer is almost always yes)? Are there people willing to create or curate content to fill that need – not as often.

But when the answer to both is yes, we check a box and boom.

So, boom. Welcome the SeacoastGrok to the family and – if you live over that way, send us your stories and Op-eds.
