What it Takes to Get a School Board (Member) to Answer a Few Questions About CRT

Manchester School District

I recently posted a list of questions (see below) to ask your local school board to determine what exactly they plan on teaching your children on race relations.

One parent in Manchester sent the list to the Board of School Committee and received a response from Jim O’Connell, who serves on the Manchester Board of School Committee. As you can see, he is refusing to answer these questions.  What are they hiding? Why won’t he answer?

I applaud the parent who didn’t just accept his dodging but instead reminded Jim that he works for him. That’s how representative government works. Jim is not there to serve the administration but to hold them accountable. But like many school board members confused about their role, he dismisses a request made by a constituent.

Jim’s character was also recently called into question by a former employee who details some of the statements he’s made in the past about Critical Race Theory used to indoctrinate the teachers. Does Jim have an integrity issue too?  Is this the kind of representation parents want in their school district?

The list of questions is fair given the revelation of this radical worldview being pushed on teachers. If Jim doesn’t want to answer hard questions, maybe he shouldn’t be serving on the board.

LIST OF QUESTIONS:

Is it the official position of the school district that all students must be “antiracist” as described by Ibram X. Kendi, Robin DeAngelo, and (other proponents)?

Is it the official position of the school district that students cannot opt-out of “antiracist” activism and instead by “not racist”?

Is it the official position of the school district that all white people have “white privilege”?

Is it the official position of the school district that the United States is a systemically racist country? If so, explain how.

Is it the official position of the school district, and are children in our schools taught that “microaggressions” are a factual reality and not a theory that is disputed?

Is it the official position of the school district that students must be “allies” to the “antiracist” agenda?  If they are not, does that make them “enemies”?

Is it the official position of the X school district, and are children in our schools taught that “intersectionality” is a factual reality and not a theory that is disputed?

Is it the official position of the school district that children in our schools should be taught that race is an element of all interactions?

Is it the official position of the school district that equity is superior and more desirable than equality? Are students taught ALL views on this issue?

Is it the official position of the school district, and are children in our schools taught that the United States was founded on racism as a factual reality and not a theory that is disputed?

A simple no. I wonder if that will age well?
