Canadian Officials Banned In-Person Gatherings to Prevent “Spread”…of (Mis)Information

Canada doesn’t have our Constitution or Bill of Rights. They’ve got 2b (as in) 2b or not 2b because Section 1 of their charter of rights and freedoms limits rights “as can be demonstrably justified in a free and democratic society.”

Section 2(b) (as in perhaps two-bit) says that “Freedom of thought, belief, opinion and expression, including freedom of the press and other media of communication,” but no so fast.

Officials in Nova Scotia, where my Scottish ancestors fled after the disaster at Culloden, imposed an injunction because, “If people are allowed to be together, they might “deliberately” spread “false information that creates risk.”

Well, that’s true of anyone and anything, especially bureaucrats and lawmakers but the “feared information” in this instance related to all things SARS CoV2 the China Viru, The Wuhan Flu. Coo-coo ka-choo.

Recently in Nova Scotia, in-person gatherings and even the right to publicly protest were rendered illegal by an injunction issued on May 14. This primarily aimed at preventing gathering to protest continued lockdowns and masking regulations. The injunction also criminalized promoting protests on social media.

Translation: no getting together or any of that because you might exchange ideas of which we disapprove.

And maybe they should modify Section 318, or is it 319 of the Criminal Code. Mark Steyn can tell you all about that. Make discussing matters related to “The Virus” hate speech punishable by fine or imprisonment.

And to think all of this descended from Magna Carta.

For all the trouble we have here in the colonies, we still managed to gather, discuss, and protest our treatment under the political response to the Pandemic (without riots or looting, in most cases).

It even spawned mass migration from Social Media platforms like Facebook and Twitter that took Hitlerian steps to do what Dr. Robert Strang (one of Nova Scotia’s ‘Barons’) has admitted was done in his province.

A tactic that has proven itself even more tyrannical as the evidence continues to prove we’ve been right about the risk, the remedies, and the politics, all along. Facts that ran contrary to the approved political speech here and in Canada.
