If tonight’s overnight thread looks a lot like a regular post it sort of kind of maybe is that because AOC just proved a big point and it’s worth our attention and discussion. It Deserves a DefCon 1 Irony Alert!
Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is not poor. The Neiman Marxist earns nearly triple the average American’s annual wage but rather than send cash to her Abuela in Puerto Rico to fix her squalid home, she whines about it on Twitter.
Making a political point in public is more important to her than doing something meaningful in private.

Conservative Commenter Matt Walsh thought it was shameful too with emphasis on AOC’s circumstances.
Shameful that you live in luxury while allowing your own grandmother to suffer in these squalid conditions

AOC, never bothering to think hey, before I open my trap maybe I could fix this myself, opened her trap.
Ocasio-Cortez responded by claiming that Walsh “[doesn’t] even have a concept for the role that 1st-gen, first-born daughters play in their families,” and that she herself was “calling attention to the systemic injustices you seem totally fine w/ in having a US colony.”
A colony run, in part, by AOC, who makes $174,000.00 a year, almost nine times the annual salary of someone in Puerto Rico but still hasn’t offered to fixed her Abuela’s home. A woman who wears clothes worth enough to do the job easily.
In response, Walsh launched a GoFundMe to “save AOC’s abuela’s ancestral home.” The goal was originally set at $48,990, though over the course of a few hours on Friday the project had already raised over $54,000.
In a few hours, Walsh and his followers raised 54K for Abuela if she’ll accept it. We hope she does since Sandy Cortez can’t be bothered to pay for it out of her own salary. And if I had to guess, I didn’t look, her followers just whined right along behind her.
Typical Marxists.
It’s always someone else’s fault and someone else’s problem. Something a conservative basically solved in a few short hours in one day by raising more money than the average Puerto Rican earns in two years.
Good job Matt, but sadly, Sandy Cortez didn’t learn a man thing.
