The Left coast is obsessed with greening the grid and mandating electric vehicles, neither of which is compatible with the other, the promised goals, or life in America. It is a problem.
Democrats who look to the Left Coast for inspiration are poisoning the wells of liberty across the fruited plain.
Twice last week the California Independent System Operator (ISO) told residents to conserve energy voluntarily, including asking to charge their EVs at certain off-peak times. The ISO also suggested “avoiding use of large appliances and turning off extra lights,” the report says.
The Green movement is political. Allusions to any other goal can be dismissed with evidence in abundance. Green Energy is dirty. Electric vehicles are not better for the environment. All of this is a scam.
If you were a thinking man or woman, you might suspect this is deliberate (I think it is).
Matthew Moniot, a researcher with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory said that most drivers who charge at night “will have to change” their routines: “If you look at aggregate load across the grid, it tends to spike in the evening hours whenever people come home.” He called it a “tricky problem” that relies on “how much can we move what’s currently overnight charging to be during the daytime hours, when generation may be more excessive.”
So… you can’t charge the car we will make you drive when you need to or want to. So, no driving! Just like an election. You vote for them; then they don’t do anything for you.
We know they don’t want us driving anywhere.
They’d prefer we pack into high-crime urban islands with access to mass transit. They’ve destroyed ride-sharing in California. There’s not much left to do but pack your bags and move into that workforce housing development the Comrades built for you so you can walk to the unemployment office to get your check. (Electric delivery vehicles won’t be charging either if I had to guess.)
The progressive utopia promises a return to the years of old, at least for the peasants. Goofs like California Governor Gavin “smoky” Newsom will still be jetting off to this or that thing, living without restrictions in air-conditioned luxury. At the same time, you wait for the appropriate ministry to approve your request for enough power to cook a meal.
Greening the grid is code for living like it’s 11800, but just you, not them.
