Reports that Border Wall Construction (Under Biden) have Resumed are Misleading

If you see the headline, Biden has resumed border wall construction, or anything like it, share it with a big grain of salt or don’t share it at all. The US Army corps has begun work at the border, but no actual wall is being built.

But that’s not what the headlines read if you search “Army corps of engineers border wall” or anything like it.

They have “resumed construction” of 13.4 miles of levee along the border in areas modified to accommodate planned wall construction. There are no plans to build an actual wall in that area at this time.

“In support of CBP’s border infrastructure program, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has resumed DHS-funded design and construction support on approximately 13.4 miles of levee in the Rio Grande Valley that were partially excavated or at various levels of construction when work on the wall was paused for review,” Maj. Grace Geiger, deputy director of public affairs at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, said in a statement.

So, you can still take your Chevy to the levy, but there’s no border wall there. It’s not dry either, probably because of global warming, which is responsible for everything, even “gun violence.”

As for wall construction, as we reported in early April, there is a path to more wall and one to stop construction legally. Neither has come to fruition yet.

Absent a formal revocation request by WRBA, the DHS, CBP, and the paid contractors have to finish what they were paid to do.

According to the Washington Examiner, there has been no formal revocation request made by WRBA, and another 300 miles of the border wall was contracted before WRBA canceled the emergency.

Whoever is Running the Biden Administration (WRBA) will do what is necessary, including pay contractors to do nothing if that is what it takes to keep the border open and the crisis that shall not be named.

Every administration has its priorities, even if creating a human and public health crisis contradicts their stated obsession with public and human health.
