The NH Dept of Health ‘Corrects the Record’ on Number of Quarantine Days

White Phone

Yesterday we reported on an unusual call from the NH Department of Health. A resident (who tested negative) in a home with a COVID19 positive person was told to quarantine for 20 days. The CDC and NH’s own website says ten days. We asked why, what’s up, what’s the deal.

Several hours after we published that story, the individual in question received another phone call.

This one went a bit differently.

The conversation was totally different.  This call started my wife, and I only need to quarantine for 10 days, which is exactly what the CDC states. Secondly, there was no race question asked to my wife.

I wonder what changed?

Sure, it might have been our needling or the fact that the article jumped into the top five shortly after publication. The top 5 posts are seen by everyone who navigates to GraniteGrok.com. They are hard to miss. And we know that various factions on both sides check to see what pots we are stirring.

Whatever the cause, we’re relieved that they corrected the situation. And while we are curious about why these residents were fed incorrect information and interrogated about race, absent any other corroboration, we’re inclined to let this go for now.

If you received a call similar to this or know someone who has, please let us know. We’ll be happy to report your story without naming the resident and forward your concerns to various members of leadership in the Legislature if the circumstance warrants.

And no, we’re not suddenly on board with the whole contagion-mongering madness. Healthy people still have nothing to fear from whatever this is and science supports that.

We also support your free choice to quarantine if that’s what you want to do but don’t expect us to pay for that.
