An Entire School Board Resigns After Getting Caught Disparaging Parents in an Online Meeting

School Board Golden Calf

It is a best practice to assume that boards and committees in your municipality, be it a plucky berg or a sprawling metropolis, secretly (or not so secretly) hold disdain for the people they claim to serve. The more liberal the area, the worse that attitude will be. They are not your friends, and you are a barrier to their agenda. Take this School board.

Oakley, California, sits on a waterway into San Francisco Bay between Pelosi’s turd city on a hill and Stockton. The average home price is north of 600,000, the population is just under 50,000, and the majority party is Democrat. It also has an elementary school board that just resigned—all of them.

Some members of the Oakley Union Elementary School District Board of Education thought they were speaking in a private virtual meeting, but after several remarks about parents were made, the members realized the meeting was public and parents were listening in, according to ABC 7.

At one point, the board discussed a critical issue for all boards and committees – how to shorten the time parents could speak at public meetings. But that wasn’t what got them in trouble; this is.

When talking about parents hiding behind social media, the Board president said, “Bit*h, if you’re going to call me out, I’m going to f*ck you up.”

One Board member, when talking about parents critical of COVID19 school closures, said, “They want to pick on us because they want their babysitters back.”

Mean Book Club Girls.

There’s more, and you can listen to the audio here. It’s not every day you get to hear what public officials think about in an uncensored format. Just remember, the superintendents, administrators, the Teacher’s Union, and a few too many teachers feel the same way.

In other words, they do not deserve your respect and admiration the demand. Though there will always be exceptions, polite tolerance (common everyday civility) might be all you should muster. On the whole, their goal is to spend more of your money on a declining education, with as little input from you as possible.

They don’t like you, do not want to hear from you, and in most cases would rather you just left this business to them because they think they know better.

I can’t think of too many Districts (schools, students, and parents) who would not benefit from having half or more of their school board members resign. They are an intolerant and intolerable bunch.
