Target Stores are notorious for how quickly they bow to pressure from the left. It’s got some history. So, this is an interesting change. Lefty scolds lost their minds when Target.com offered the book, “Irreversible Damage: The Transgender Craze Seducing Our Daughters.”
Here’s a blurb for the book on Amazon .com.
[T]oday whole groups of female friends in colleges, high schools, and even middle schools across the country are coming out as “transgender.” These are girls who had never experienced any discomfort in their biological sex until they heard a coming-out story from a speaker at a school assembly or discovered the internet community of trans “influencers.”
Unsuspecting parents are awakening to find their daughters in thrall to hip trans YouTube stars and “gender-affirming” educators and therapists who push life-changing interventions on young girls—including medically unnecessary double mastectomies and puberty blockers that can cause permanent infertility.
We’ve covered this. If you are an adult and want to mutilate yourself into infertility, it’s not my business. Just don’t make me pay for it. It’s your business, though I’d caution against doing anything rash, mostly so the snowflakes can call me a bigot. I could care less about them but remember who cautioned you against this in a few years when it all goes sideways on you.
Just leave kids alone. Stop messing with their minds and their bodies.
As for the book, that’s the message, and hey, it’s transphobic (search Google for proof). But it’s also just a book, and you can’t help what you love to read, right? And people want to read this book. After the Daily Caller reported Target’s censorship, sales soared into the top 100 for all books on Amazon.com.
Target reversed course. I guess someone decided that if people were going to buy a mountain of copies of a “transphobic book,” they might want a piece of that. Will they learn any lessons?
I doubt it.
Left-Wing scolds applied pressure, and Target caved. But censorship is still a bad word, and even Target has stock-holders and a board of directors. And this COVID thing – sorry, the leftist political overreaction to the COVID thing – has not been good for business. Pissing off millions of customers right before Christmas might not be terribly clever.
You can buy the book here, on Amazon, or search for it at your favorite bookseller or digital portal. If they don’t have it, ask them for it. See what happens.
