Parler: “We will not let civil discourse perish!”

Facebook has been flagging news about the “return” of Parler as false. It is fair to say that Parler is not back the way it was before Amazon pulled the plug (lawsuits underway for breach of contract). But if you go to Parler.com, there is a Parler page with a message.

We are with you; whether you get back up and running in days, weeks, or months, we at GraniteGrok have always encouraged civil (meaning public) discourse even when it’s not something we all want to see or hear.*

Civil, as in “civility” or incivility, is far too subjective. Snowflakes melt, people get triggered, folks get rubbed the wrong way, and our rule is to let the community bat that stuff around and work it out as long as they follow the basics.

Free Speech is too important, and we look forward to Parler’s return.
