No End in Sight to the Tyranny – Sununu Extends Mask-Mandate Through March

Sununu’s mask-mandate has been totally ineffectual as the following chart from the New York Times shows. He initially ordered a 60-day mask-mandate on November 19, 2020 (see second chart). Since then cases have exploded:

What is driving the spike in New Hampshire and elsewhere in COVID cases is that it is cold and flu season. COVID is a virus, as is the cold and the seasonal flu. When it gets cold and we shut the windows and spend more time indoors, we are more likely to get infected with a virus.

Of course, what will happen is that when the season change and the warm weather returns … and we open our windows and spend less time indoors … COVID will “go away” as it did this past summer. And as surely as spring follows winter, Sununu will rush to twitter, Instagram, WMUR and NHPR and claim all the credit.

I will add here that Sununu’s mask-mandate is also about establishing Sununu’s bona fides as a Biden-Republican.

There is no public health justification for the mask-mandate. The mandate is ineffectual. Sununu’s renewal of the mandate is totally politically-motivated.

I will also add that I do not care whether the mandate has numerous exceptions that “swallow the rule.” That’s typical Chris Sununu … trying to be in favor of masks and against masks at the same time. I am tired of the mask-Nazis and any sort of a mandate, even a Swiss-cheese mandate, emboldens them.
