I hope that other elected Republicans see this and know that this is, in part, why they were elected – that Government doesn’t have to keep growing all the time:
In November the people of Belknap county elected a 100% Republican delegation. The first harvest has come in early. With citizens facing the difficulties left over from the 2020 economic destruction your delegation held true to their promises to deliver relief. The county delegation approved the executive committee’s recommended budget which provides an 11% tax reduction.
We appreciate the moral support that you provided, this is a victory for those who seek responsible and accountable government. We couldn’t do it without you.
Thank you,
Rep. Mike Sylvia
Belmont
Chairman, Belknap County Delegation
Now, we all know how budgets work – dept heads create their drafts, Administration pads, slushes (or even, sometimes, cuts)…
Sidenote: in this case, the insufferable Debbie Shackett, the former Financial Director of Gilford who, along with the even worse Evans Juris (who, after being elevated from Police Chief to Town Administrator and then canned), was behind the effort of Silencing Doug and I on the BudComm when they plagiarized the City of Sunnyvale CA and called it their own. Talk about failing upwards!
…their budget, and then in NH, all of the NH House Reps from that particular County (called the “County Delegation”) then start to review that proposed budget and then voting on their deliberations.
In this case, I as a resident of Belknap County, thank them. Too often, too many people have their hands out for other peoples’ money (like all the “social organizations” that would rather do the easy thing and go after politicians (easy prey for a mob? In most cases, yes) instead of doing the hard work and going out and doing the canvassing themselves) to hand it out to them. In this case, across the entire budget, they said:
We’re putting the taxpayers first
Thanks!
