The Obama IRS was a political weapon used to punish, infringe, or intimidate opposing political interests. With Democrats back in power, one Senator is asking the Internal Revenue Service for a reboot. This time to revoke the non-profit status of a group that ignored the COVID19 mask and distancing rules.

“[V]eteran lawmaker, Rhode Island Democrat Sheldon Whitehouse, says the conservative student organization, Turning Point USA, should lose its nonprofit rating because it held large events that could help spread COVID-19. In a letter to IRS Commissioner Charles P. Rettig the senator describes the gatherings as “superspreader” events. He specifically mentions a Palm Beach, Florida winter gala at the Mar-a-Lago Club famously owned by former President Donald Trump.”
Sheldon is one of many left-wing tyranny superspreaders (like Jeanne Shaheen). You know the sort. Call your opponents fascists while allowing third-party fascists (pretending to be anti-fascists) to silence your political opponents. Then, as soon as you have the authority, you use state power to silence them.
The Obama Administration famously used the IRS to bury Tea Party groups filing for non-profit status in mountains of red tape. The IRS targeting demanded copious amounts of personal information unnecessary to the process. And denied groups the filing status simply because they would engage in political speech to which the Administration objected.
It was eventually deemed illegal after that no longer mattered. No one involved paid any price for the criminality.
We’re a week into the Biden era, and the IRS targeting tactics have returned, this time with the patina of Public Health tyranny.
Fail to do as you are told and we will discriminate against you with extreme prejudice. A contradiction that we can extrapolate back to the early days of the BLM and Antifa protests and riots.
In the midst of peak shutdown mania, a career criminal who died of a fentanyl overdose in police custody was used to catalyze months of super-spreader events. The Democrats – who overwhelmingly approved the healthcare fascism – cheered the activity as constitutionally protected and patriotic (among other favorable mumblings).
Cities like Portland continue to have riots and violence with little to no interest in pursuing the organizations behind it. Attacks on municipal and federal buildings were not acts of insurrection but necessary rebellion to expose the system’s repression.
A system Democrats like Whitehouse use to repress, intimidate, and silence political opponents.
