ONE HAND WASHES THE OTHER: Joe Biden, Black Lives Matter activists helped you win Wisconsin. Don’t forget us. “These demands are not coming from Kenosha alone, but from all across the country, where the Black Lives Matter movement – the largest social uprising in our nation’s history – has inspired a new generation of voters and activists. So while racial justice leaders may have helped Biden take back the White House, come January 2021, we’ll be reminding him exactly who got him there.” “By whatever means necessary,” one presumes.
UPDATE (FROM GLENN): A friend texts:
“Not to pick nits but the Tea Party actually got a swath of congressmen elected. BLM appears to have had the opposite effect.”
(H/T: Instapundit)
A bit of meandering now progresses…
Indeed – it’s almost like the TEA Party foreshadowed Trump. Trump won and the TEA Party, as the Blogline says, got a lot of people elected during its heyday.
Unfortunately, those in the TEA Party suffered by being painted by the Democrats and their mouthpieces in the MSM as extremists, the Deep State doing what it could to despoil it financially (e.g., remember the IRS and Lois Lerner?), and in the end, by the Establishment Republican Party joining in on the hate fest.
While the latter LOVED getting the votes (just ask Baby Huey’s daddy, Papa Smurf), they didn’t like the fact that the TEA Partiers wanted a seat at the table for the win.
Tired of being figuratively being spit upon by everyone, we went Galt. After all, if you are GOING TO FIGHT US, why should we fight for YOU? Because you have an R after your name? Silly people.
And now we see it again – the same array of Statists (and trust me, there are Big Statists within the GOP regardless of the Freedom and Liberty stuff they push out via the GOP consulting grifters) have now turned against Trump – he isn’t “one of them” either from without the GOP or within as well. A lot of people didn’t like the “tone” and actions of the TEA Party – mostly because we were tired of the same old crap.
Ask yourself, how many “luminaries” and 2024 wannabees are standing next to the person who has gotten more Conservative stuff DONE than any other in a long, long time? I’ll be happy to start asking that question.
Yes, this is history replaying itself except instead of being on the outside and shoving people into the inside that we thought would do what they said they would (yes, Frank Guinta, I’m thinking of you. Again.), Trump got the outsiders to get him into the inside – and he DID get stuff done. And no, I could care less what he said, what he tweeted, and his brusque management style replaced people that weren’t getting the job done. Fine and Dandy. We brought a businessman in to do the job politicians wouldn’t do.
And they’ve reacted the same way they did a decade ago – bum rushing him out just like us.
Again I ask – they wouldn’t fight for us then, why do they expect that we’ll do it again in the near future? Simply because they are the least worst with an R after their name?
Loyalty SHOULD count but you’re doing it all wrong. Loyalty starts from the top down to Joe and Jane Sixpack. Too often, the GOP keeps thinking it’s supposed to work the other way around.
And only that way.
And the BLMers are going to that out as well.
Problem is, we in the TEA Party, while loud and raucous at times, were also usually polite – and our rally locations were ALWAYS cleaner after we left then before we arrived.
Now, how ya gonna deal with Antifa / BLM who have the opposite outlook?
