Decision making without a grasp of the impact

Decision making without a grasp of the impact

Decision making without a grasp of the impact. That is Leftists decision making. It is otherwise known as mob rule. The virus is real. People have died from it. But the economic impact American cities are seeing is not from the virus. The economic impact is from the self imposed restrictions.  You imposed the restrictions on your citizenry and your businesses. Actions have consequences, they generate results.

More information has come out about the virus continually since discovery. We have come to understand the lethality of the disease has been consistently and continuously over stated. Have there been any significant changes in the restrictions? No, not really. Are we listening to the same people still who blew the initial call and the follow up calls? Yes, yes we are.

The creatures of the government and the media have acted irresponsibly. The CDC has an announcement. Only 6% of the virus deaths occurred in healthy people without other contributing conditions. That isn’t to say the disease isn’t dangerous. But, it clearly isn’t what you told us it is either.

Worse, there are treatments which have prophylactic value. You are responsible for their prohibition rather than promoting them. And it was you who, after listening to the experts and made the response decisions. You see, as in all things in life, your actions are a questions of judgment. Now we see the results of your actions.

Government “über alles”

Then there’s masking. First it was no. Then it was yes. Then it was distancing. Next it was both. The discussion should have been about how the virus spreads. What can be done and how? How effective are the various measures. Instead you are taking action to save us from ourselves. That is tyrannical. People will comply if they understand. Self preservation is a powerful motivator in us all. But that was not what this is all about… is it?

In Chicago Mayor Lightfoot says, “all options are on the table.” She refuses to get into specifics. Predictably the city has proposals for taxing computer leases and streaming services. It also is looking at increasing restaurant and entertainment taxes. They spin these as stopgap measures.  There is no sunset under discussion for any of these proposals.

The city is likely to consider other measures, predictably a property tax hike. Make a problem. Confiscate people’s wealth and incomes. It is Leftist strategy and tactics. Is it decision making without a grasp of the impact? Or is it decision making with malicious intent. Government “über alles.”
