Quick Thought – Being Colorblind, I See You JUST Fine.

While I’m in my office, I often turn on the TV (generally the news). While surfing through some channels I happened to come across Bravo TV and a promo for one of their shows:

Race in America
A Movement Not a Moment

Yeah, taking advantage of current events – and why not? That is the Capitalist way. See a hole in the Marketplace, create a product that serves your present or potential customers, fill their needs, make a profit. When you are dealing with race relations, however, that can get a bit sketchy and turn OFF your customers as well. The preview is here (can’t embed it) but one line was said that I think

If you’re color blind, that means you don’t even see me.

Yeah, that is about as convincing as when the gender dysphoria -TransMafia says “Stop trying to erase me”. Both lines are meant to stop any kind of conversation by dint of “a morally superior viewpoint because, SHUT UP”. Er, nope.

To the latter, just because I disagree with you, stop with the epithet in which you want me to take a knee in disbelieving my lyin’ eyes. Whatever your biological sex is, that is who you are even if you get the top/bottom surgery. Genes are immutable (at least within our biotechnology) – born a male, you’re a male (and vice versa).

To the former – I see you just fine BECAUSE I don’t care what your skin color is. I DO, however, care about your heart and your mind – those things that are much deeper than just your skin. How you think, what are your priorities, what is your culture, what you believe, and of course, your politics (after all, I am a political blogger). I care about who you are and not just how you look.

And while it is no longer politically correct to say anymore, it IS about “not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.”

But then, again, I’m just a Conservatarian – not one of those “good White people“.
