DISQUS Doodlings – Bruce Currie, Me, and the Lives of the Unborn

unborn baby in womb

I’ll spoil it upfront – I believe the life of an unborn child is sacrosanct. Bruce Currie, our resident Bernie-Bro?  You decide. Over at Beth’s “State Sen. Cindy Rosenwald Must Disavow Racist Ties.

ICYMI:  Do Masks Work – CA Mandates Masks and one Month Later – Cases up over 160%

Will the Nashua Democrats ever admit they support a racist organization? Nashua Senator Cindy Rosenwald was endorsed by Planned Parenthood NH Action Fund in 2018 and will surely be endorsed by them again for 2020. Elections are in November. Nashua deserves better than to be represented by a state senator who would accept the endorsement of an organization founded by eugenicists and which continues to disproportionately target people of color.

And Bruce immediately in the DISQUS comments decided to show a great example of cognitive dissonance – really, the killing of an unborn child is a “the enemy of the good” in trying to call us out for being Cancel Culture for trying to save the soul that the Left wishes to destroy. Tell me, WHICH is the real physical canceling here?

At every turn, he refuses to admit that an abortion means two lives turns into one, like here:

The only true thing there is that you have, indeed, posted several times. In support of killing black babies. This is you. This is the sum of everything that made you.

And watch how Bruce doesn’t take on that main point above. Instead, he prevaricates and starts wailing about bigotry and victimhood. Can you tell he’s a Socialist and an anti-religious bigot?

Bruce Currie  bilabus123 • 9 days ago
World-wide, access to family planning healthcare is one of the most effective ways to lift people out of poverty. Real bigotry, then and now, blames the victims for their plight, and does nothing, preferring marketplace magic and religious nostrums to justify the status-quo.

He continues, as my Object Lesson of the Day, really gives us his view of capitalism:

One more time: your claims here are hysterical nonsense. Capitalism in its pure form is no friend of families–quite the opposite. Capitalism destroys traditional family structures–both the nuclear and the extended–it’s only interventions into the market by government and private charity that ameliorate some of the worst effects of its “creative destruction”.

I guess we should be thankful that he, at least, disagrees with Bernie on the role of private charity (which Bernie would get rid of in a heartbeat). I guess he didn’t get the news that the traditional family started falling apart after LBJ (Big Govt Statist and Democrat) had his “Great Society” big welfare programs passed that incentivized husbands and Dads to leave the family and for Big Government to assume those roles (along with the money it passed out). Of course, Govt HAS to be the Savior of us all (tell that to all the families who had family members in the NY long term nursing homes and Cuomo sent WuFlu infectees back into those homes.

But I couldn’t leave his use of “plight” alone:

Their plight? So, not having to take responsibility for making the decision to participate in an act that would result in a new life, a new baby, is now a “plight”? And no ownership of the responsibility of making that decision, right?

And if you are THAT so concerned, get off your lazy butt, create a foundation, and fund it with your money along with those that feel the same way and go out and hand out contraceptives. But that’s not the Progressive / Socialist way, is it?  What is “the way” is to whine about the inequality, do nothing about it yourselves, but FORCE everyone to make you feel better about your “feelz” by the use of Government.

THAT is bigotry and totalitarian.

But again, he goes off into another direction and again doesn’t talk to the actual premise; deflection and redirection and twisting of words (re: plight, above):

Bruce Currie  GraniteGrok • 8 days ago
The failure rate for contraception can be as high as 10%. Spare us the bit about “personal responsibility”–that’s condescending bull****, along with the usual sweeping claims about anything you dislike automatically being “totalitarian”. Nonsense.

Nice to see, in black and white, that “personal responsibility” has no role in Socialism. Of COURSE it doesn’t – Socialism / Progressivism is ALL ABOUT “releasing” people from self-responsibility and owning their actions. According to folks like Bruce, SOCIETY made them make those decisions. All of us. Thus they believe we must REMEDY those “wrongs” and pay for them as a Collective. After all, there is no Individual in the Collectivist world – and no chance to be one either.

And no, Bruce, you again twist the words. Totalitarian is when someone is forcing you to believe in something you know to be untrue. In this case, your “feelz” that the unborn live in a mother is effectively just tissue and not a new life completely separate from (but nurtured by) a person that made a decision to create that child. In this, making us to believe that murder isn’t murder.

That doesn’t work. So here’s the bottom line – I asked THE only relevant question of this issue:

GraniteGrok Mod  Bruce Currie • 9 days ago
OK, here’s the bottom line – performing an abortion is killing a baby (no matter how far along its development has proceeded):

Yes or No.

Those are the only choices. Any other blithering word salad answers will automatically be judged as “no, an abortion does not kill a new life”.

Of course, he wouldn’t. Of course, they’ll not answer direct questions (most of the time). That is the lesson to learn. That’s when you dig in -they give that little baby no choice for their life? No mercy for that baby? Not from Bruce.

Banning abortion, and making access to birth control and family planning services more difficult, make abortions more likely as a last resort–an odd result for those claiming to abhor the procedure. Reproductive freedom entails choice and responsibility in the real world, where there are few if any absolutes. When abortion is criminalized and outlawed, the procedure is driven underground and into back alleys, and made dangerously unsafe–so much for “reverence for life”. We can do better, which was the intent of Roe v Wade.

That’s a “NO!” from you – a developing baby isn’t human so off with its head (literally) is perfectly fine with you.

No, Bruce doesn’t believe that babies who are still developing aren’t babies. Nor do most of the Left. They also can’t face the fact that they are blase about killing that baby.

Here they are, all about “saving the oppressed from the oppressors” (the latter being anyone not them) – but they can’t face up that they are all in for oppressing that precious life.

Intellectual, emotional, and ideological hypocrits.
