A recent internal audit and investigation of 189 scientists at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) revealed that a number of them had accepted undisclosed grants from foreign governments. The undisclosed foreign ties resulted in the firing or resignation of 54 scientists, most of whom took money from China.

At the time of the investigation, some 143 scientists in 27 states held active grants worth $164 million. More than 80 percent were Asian, reflecting the CCP’s targeting of Chinese researchers.
The CCP aggressively recruits foreign researchers as part of its Thousand Talents program, which is seen by the U.S. government as a cover for obtaining American intellectual property.
And it’s a much bigger problem than just that.
One third of the 189 scientists probed by the NIH were already on the radar of the FBI, according to Lauer’s presentation. Seven in 10 failed to report foreign grants and more than half have an undisclosed “talents award.”
This ties directly to the DoJ investigations into Universities who have been accepting money and influence from China for years. We’ve reported on this influence-peddling at UNH, based on CIA guidance about Confucius Institutes. UNH has one and is proud of it. And while UNH has not been flagged for anything untoward, when we add the NIH investigation, we have to ask, how much deeper does this rabbit hole go?
The answer is probably – deep!
Given how much the Democrats heap love on China and scorn on Trump for his efforts to get America untangled from their influence, the whole Russia noise-machine looks like an even bigger effort at misdirection. And that’s all it is. Democrat Socialists will take their communism wherever they can get it, but why not point over there while doing all your business over here.
Trump’s not falling for it, and they hate that which is good.
Unhappy Democrats are like a trail of breadcrumbs. The madder they get, the closer you are to uncovering their malfeasance, just like the nonsense going on at NIH, whose research and publications have been tainted by foreign influence for years.
