My lament that Popular Mechanics has now gone “Woke” is here. Soon after that, I got an email from Hearst asking me if I’d subscribe.
Yeah, sure thing, pal:

You know, I avoided Popular Science because it decided to go “full woke” instead of, you know, talking about just science without taking sides in the Culture Wars.
And now with the above article, instead of sticking to the stuff that I loved about your content, it’s clear you’ve chosen sides as well.
Goodbye.

The response back, sent a while after mine, was the standard one I expected:

You know, I have no idea why anyone would be sending out emails without figuring out that sometimes, a person like me wants to respond with a quick REPLY. I understand – big companies get big volumes of emails. But would it be THAT hard to have software that can act like a “crap, this needs a response” on some gradation of “response needed”.
Or they may just not care. We’ll see but I doubt it.
But it only takes one person to taint others that might be thinking of using their products or services.
