Don’t stop me if you’ve heard this one. In yet another show of political street theater (this one indoors), House Democrats knelt in honor of George Floyd or something, each wearing a scarf made of Kente cloth. The royal fabric of the Ruling Asante, who sold thousands of black slaves to Dutch and English.

USA Today fact-checked it.
Tutu, who lived from 1660 to 1712 or 1717, unified several small Asante kingdoms to create the Asante empire. He is credited with expanding the Asante throughout most of Ghana and introducing his subjects to the gold and slave trades along the West African coast.
The Asante supplied British and Dutch traders with slaves in exchange for firearms, which they used to expand their empire. Slaves were often acquired as tributes from smaller states or captured during war. Some slaves were brought across the Atlantic whiles others stayed in Africa to work in gold fields.
According to the BBC, by the end of the 18th century, the region exported an estimated 6,000-7,000 slaves per year.
USA Today then goes on to try and provide some cover by claiming the cloth has other meanings but forgets to mention that it would only have the one meaning if we saw Republicans wearing it.
Another point they neglect is the irony of this effort and its true modern-day symbolism.
Wealthy Democrats (who live like royalty), think they know better, and live to lord over us, have trapped many black Americans on their urban plantations, subjecting them to systemic policy abuses for decades.
The majority of blacks who die in America do so in cities that have been run and controlled by Democrats for decades. Complete top to bottom control of the government, the police force, everything.
The idea that anyone else is responsible for whatever plight exists is projection on the highest order. And no, Black Lives Matter is not interested in that plight either.
These modern Democrat slave traders are still at work trading black lives for political power while ignoring the crime, broken families, drug abuse, and murder that runs rampant in these communities supposedly under their guidance and protection. Black lives damaged or lost that have no apparent political value and, as such, do not matter.
And that sums up the entire Left-wing project.
If you cannot, do not, or will not help them secure the unchallenged authority that resulted in the urban injustice heaped upon minorities your life means nothing to them. A stipulation that applies not just to black lives but the lives of women, gays, teachers, children, or any minority or identity politics “victim Group” member who refuses to line up for the systemic march toward collective tyranny.
Democrats were never about freeing people. They are about finding new paths to slavery. But will enough people realize this by November and deliver a crushing defeat to their candidates and agenda? Or will we slide further down this self-destructive slippery slope?
