Heh! Doug left GraniteGrok quite some time ago. That said, it seems like scammers are always out of date. Doesn’t help when the email telling “you” that you’ve been fired goes to the “boss”. I actually get this type of email on a regular basis:
From: “Human Resources Manager”Sent: 4/30/2020 5:08:33 AMSubject: Letter of dismissalDear doug
Employee at granitegrok.com Company,We are deeply saddened to inform you that your term of employment at granitegrok.com company has come to an immediate end. Due to the covid-19 epidemic, we have no choice but to end your employment with us.This decision is effective immediately.Find attached your 2 months salary receipt. We thank you for your service and we wish it didn’t have to end this way.Sincerely,
And of course, there was a “payload” HTML file attached, naturally. So I responded and I really AM hoping they’ll write back (heh!):

I think the over/under that they will is pretty much nil – but it would be kinda fun, wouldn’t it?
