FreedomWorks has issued a governor’s Report Card. They analyzed the various response and reopening strategies in each state on a handful of points (mostly the economic damage) and gave each effort a grade. How did your state do?

This report grades the nation’s governors on how they have, and are continuing to, respond to the coronavirus. Taking into account the severity of the virus in each state and the need to keep their citizens safe and healthy, we assess how measured or damaging their actions have been with respect to safeguarding the economic well-being of their citizens.

In this report, we assess how the governors have handled the shutdowns in terms of measuring how restrictive and damaging governors’ edicts have been when it comes to their state’s economy. This isn’t just a rearview mirror assessment of the damage done to jobs, businesses, and state revenues and debt over the last two months.
The most startling number in the overview for New Hampshire (IMO) is the change in unemployment. The political response resulted in a 6011.75% increase in unemployment.
New York State also Received a ‘C’ as did Massachusetts and Vermont.
If you look at the map you will see there are a lot of A’s and B’s in flyover country and most of the Ds and Fs are where you’d expect. The entire Left coast, PA south to North Carolina. Hawaii. New Mexico, Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, RI, CT, and (surprise?) Maine.
The report card is an ongoing thing so New Hampshire could improve if Flununu changes his tactics and lets us out of political prison. Dems are big on letting people out of jail. Maybe he should just frame it that way for the Democrat’s he is afraid will bludgeon him over every illness or death that follows every action.
