Data Point – The “Live Free or Die” State isn’t all that Free w/respect to Coronavirus Restrictions

Welcome to New Hampshire

WELCOME to the 35th State in the Nation!

Americans experienced unprecedented restrictions on their everyday life in order to fight the coronavirus, but now most states have partially reopened. In order to determine the states with the fewest coronavirus restrictions, WalletHub compared the 50 states and the District of Columbia across 11 key metrics.

Those metrics include whether masks were recommended or required; travel restrictions; large gathering restrictions; school closures; restaurants and bars status; reopening of “non-essential” businesses; child care; strictness of “shelter-in-place” orders; whether a state is part of a multi-state arrangement; suspension or postponement of legislative sessions; and medical services, including elective surgery.

NH? Not that free – we ranked 35th in this latest iteration. Again, that is 35th out of the 50 States + DC.  Sadly, I have to use Steve’s best new phrase: Herd Me till I Die to describe our status as the “Live Free or Die” state (as our NH Constitution expressly states, a SOVEREIGN and INDEPENDENT State:

[Art.] 7. [State Sovereignty.] The people of this State have the sole and exclusive right of governing themselves as a free, sovereign, and independent State; and do, and forever hereafter shall, exercise and enjoy every power, jurisdiction, and right, pertaining thereto, which is not, or may not hereafter be, by them expressly delegated to the United States of America in Congress assembled.

As opposed to His Excellency, Governor Sununu, rewrite of said Article  to be “we’re just a suburb of Boston”. Heck, THEIR beaches are opening up – how DOES NH get its beaches back? By fiat command of Boston Democrat Marty Walsh or Democrat-lite Governor Charlie Baker?

Or even our churches?

35th. All by Executive Order as the NH Democrat House Speaker Shurtleff and Senate President Soucy decided to go all supine on their “leadership” mandates.

Herd Me til I DIE – Nuts to that!
