Illegals Border Crossing Attempts Plummet – Are They Afraid They Will Get Coronavirus?

If saying the Coronavirus originated in China is racist what is saying “that you have all these infected people” if that keeps illegal immigrants from trying to break into our country?

First, reality. Our nation of 300 million+ has *290,000 confirmed cases of the coronavirus and that sounds like a lot. It’s more than any other nation has reported. That could be because we’re being more honest about the testing results than China or other countries. It could be because we logistically are more capable of doing more testing more quickly. Some large numbers are infected but asymptomatic, or their symptoms are mild. Or, maybe we really do have more sick people who need hospital beds or even ventilators.

That’s the narrative the Trump Derangement Syndrome left and the media are pushing. That is the message most foreigners will see and hear.

What if that perception is responsible for large numbers of illegals opting to not attempt to break in and demand sanctuary?

If that keeps drug runners, human traffickers, and criminal-aliens out of the country, great. But the left doesn’t really seem to care about that. So, what’s the deal with the drop in border crossings.

Only 79 people were encountered Sunday by Border Patrol agents nationwide after they had attempted to enter the country between ports of entry. If that rate continued over the course of a month, it would make for fewer than 2,500 apprehensions, a drop in the bucket compared to the 30,000 arrests that agents made just on the southern border in February and 132,000 at the peak of the border crisis last May.

That’s a Yuge difference. What possible reasons could there be for the decline?

Well, the borders are closed to all non-essential traffic. The President has ordered additional troops to the border. Oh, and there’s that virus thing. The latter being, as noted above, perhaps the single biggest likely issue given that the virus narrative all emotion with very little fact or science.

The media hyperbole is a reverse recruiting message for the American left.

Put another way, Democrats are xenophobic racists.
