That is an absolutely inane AND insane thing to say. Of COURSE you can – and there is no health policy reason that could stop Sununu from doing EXACTLY that. Here’s the DHHS map of infection rates in NH from yesterday:

Remove Concord (and Franklin which is pretty much a nursing home outbreak) and you remove Merrimack – just cordon off Concord:
Sidenote: which, like their counterparts in DC, would suit the Democrat leaders in the NH House and Senate just fine. They have the power over their own chambers, not Sununu. But they are cowards.
That constitutes three quarters of all the incidents. Congrats, Coos County, you’re finally as “important” as Hillsborough – just not in the way you ever wanted.
No, Sununu, it ISN’T that you can’t “separate the parts of the State out by county” – it’s that you don’t want to or don’t have the political will to do so. Time to make the hard decision to make the lifeboat decision, Chris, and stop the political dithering. It CAN be done and it SHOULD be done. THere is NO reason why Pittsburg should be treated like Dover. There is NO reason why Lisbon should be treated like Salem.
There is NO reason why Coos, Carroll, Sullivan, Cheshire, and Grafton (yeah, cordon off Lebanon and Hanover just like Concord as being outliers) and Belknap should be treated like Rockingham and Hillsborough. The numbers aren’t even close. And I’m betting that for every reason why you say you can’t (and I dryly note that you DIDN’T state your reasons, just a “hand flurry and fast words”), we can offer more than you to offset each and everyone.
C’mon, be open and transparent and TELL us why? And if you can’t, send out your flack DJ Bettencourt to do it for you.
All over the country, people are starting to get their (virtual, as necessary) Scots-Irish ancestry on and just saying no. Already, many are just invoking “Irish Democracy” (er, you DO know what that is, right) and just ignoring those in charge. The latter will be a lot easier to do here in NH. If not openly, then in the underground and blackmarket (Psst – wanna some disinfectant wipes?).
Get off the pot and do what’s right.
