Decision Making in Times of Uncertainty

2020 is an election year

Decision making in times of uncertainty is difficult for us all. Speaker Pelosi has no such decision making difficulty. She has just decided to announce a new committee. Its purpose is to attack President Trump. The pandemic hasn’t passed yet and already the attacks begin.

Attacking decision making

The Democrats are attacking over the administration’s handling of COVID-19. Not only is the pandemic not over but it hasn’t even hit its apex.  Nothing distracting here. Nothing partisan about the action. It is simply the way Democrats do business… attack, attack, attack.

This move comes despite the positive responses coming from around the country to the administration’s efforts. Even where there are local Democrat administrations there is grudging praise. The administration’s reaction has been early and dynamic. It has moved forward after listening to the best available guidance.

But in D.C they’re continuing to prioritize pot-shot politics. They refuse cooperation even to defeat this pandemic. The best plan moving forward proposed by the Democrats is divide, divide, divide. They seem incapable of anything constructive. All they know how to do is attack, attack, attack.

All they have done and continue to do is attack, attack, attack. The pandemic does not care what your party affiliation is. It does not discriminate based on politics. Whatever happened to uniting as one great nation? Democrats are choosing subpoenas over solutions. They are selecting hearings over healthcare and theatrics over therapies.

When is political attack appropriate…

It would be one thing if this was election-year politics and there wasn’t a pandemic in progress. It is quite another when the goal is the advancement of partisan politics over the common good. Yup, it’s an election year. But, this is time to do something about what’s going on. It is time for us to take care of our loved ones.
We need to remember those who make good decisions.

We should remember who represent our interest, New Hampshire’s interests. They deserve our votes. Democrats claim to want “oversight” to ensure appropriations by Congress are spent. But, their own track record destroys their claims. If Democrats cared about frugality with taxpayer money would they have done this? Would they insert $350 million to resettle refugees into a coronavirus relief bill?

That makes no sense to me. What does refugee resettlement have to do with emergency coronavirus relief? If they care about good stewardship of taxpayer money they would not have stuck it in a pandemic response bill. They wouldn’t have allowed the nation to not have had a budget in more than two decades. Those things point to them not caring even a little bit about financial oversight. When Democrats claim financial oversight as their motivation it is time for our male bovine excrement (B.S.) alarm to go off.

Even-handed approach to criticism

Where were their urgent committees, task forces, reports, and studies? The Obama administration depleted the National Strategic Stockpile and didn’t replenish it. Where were they when it mattered? Did they offer criticism when the Swine Flu/H1N1 pandemic hospitalized and killed thousands of Americans? Where was their oversight when the Obama administration sat on its hands? Did they speak out when their person was in charge?

This more of Democrats’ destructive, never-ending bloodlust. They target Trump,  capitalism and free speech. Democrats target people based on race. They attack, attack, attack. When are they going to make something… anything better? In Democrats’ delirium, helping Americans back on their feet is trivial. They are all about destroying things not building things.

They didn’t care when their lies about “Russian collusion” undermined our nation in nuclear talks. The Democrats did not care when the impeachment saga drew our focus away from confronting China on trade. Now our economy is frozen in place. Now with a Chinese virus affecting every element of American life.

Wouldn’t you think Democrats could offer more than merely reverting to attack politics? When are they ever going to unite, to build? When are they going to be the bi-partisan people they want everyone else to be?

What’s coming

In the coming weeks, Trump will continue to lead America through this chapter in our history. We will work tirelessly to connect our medical professionals with resources. The innovation community will develop new therapies, vaccines, and treatments. Medical infrastructure will be repatriated. We must ensure the health of our citizens is never dependent on the whims of foreign powers.

A point the leftists don’t grasp is that we elect an American President to make the big decisions. Maybe they do not grasp the point due to their own arrogance. Making decisions is not about being the most expert in medicine, military matters, speaking foreign languages, economics, etc.

Making decisions is about weighing facts in a time of uncertainty. It is about deciding the probability the information available is true. Good decision making is about determining how much weight to give to it if it is true. It is about experience, wisdom, and judgment.

This coronavirus situation is demonstrating for any who are paying attention is Trump’s decision making. His decision making has been better amidst the stress and uncertainty than the entire Democrat hierarchy. More importantly, that remains true even allowing the Democrats the benefit of 20/20 hindsight… There’s a message in there for voters someplace.

We will get through this… Will we learn from it?

Our economy will rebound. It has always been and it remains the strongest and most resilient in the world. Shouldn’t your congressional delegation work toward the righteous goal of a restored America? Can that happen with Pappas, Shaheen, and Kuster sitting in those seats? Decision making in times of uncertainty is difficult for us all. This fall we will get the chance to vote early, vote often. Here’s hoping you vote for change.
