It’s about time! New Hampshire is finally spitting out stats on the China Flu epidemic at the town level. Data is provided for every town in the state with towns with Coos County being the only one with no known cases.
That may change over time but one thing seems clear even after a cursory glance of the map: Density matters. Nashua and Manchester have the highest densities in the State so it seems logical that the interactions between people happen more often. Portsmouth, Derry, Windham, and Salem – adjoining the Mass line plus Hanover and Lebanon come second. You can see how as densities lower, the incidents seem to be less.
The only surprise is Keene – given that it is a college town full of “Invincibles”, there are still no reported cases.
Take it for what it is because I don’t think it is much of a bet that this map will change in a few days. I hope not but as testing starts ramping up, the color densities will change.
