Last night we quietly and peacefully overtook the Union Leader in Domestic Alexa Ranking (again) to retake the number one spot as NH’s online traffic leader in digital-print media.

After four months at number one in the late summer and early fall of 2019, we fell to number two. December, January, and February, seemed like strong months for traditional news media running up to the First in the Nation Primary. And despite record-setting traffic to our pages in January and better year over year numbers in February we still remained stuck at number two the entire time.

(If you are unfamiliar, the Union Leader is the State’s biggest newspaper.)

Given that Alexa’s rank is an average over some number of months, along with other data, we may be looking at the result of January’s influence getting its due, or it could be something else. However it works, and I’m not familiar with the algorithm (or any algorithm – except the Al Gore “ithms”) we’ve wheedled our way back to the top in New Hampshire.

We did surpass the UL in global rank for several months last year as well, but not yet this time around. Not yet. Maybe later. And this could last a day, a week, or several months. I’m happy to have made it back for today. It tells us we are providing a service you can’t get from other media. And not just in New Hampshire.

Thanks for your past, current, and future time and attention, and please remember to like or follow us on Facebook and (we’re back on) Twitter.
