Vermont Monitoring Nine for Possible Coronavirus Infections

As the Chinese look for ways to subtly bring the official reporting in line with reality, the world continues to monitor anything that might appear to be the novel Coronavirus. There are 15 confirmed cases in the US with 81 pending, with 9 of those pending cases from Vermont.

The Vermont Department of Health is now checking travelers returning from China but says the risk of coronavirus here is low. There are currently no cases of coronavirus suspected or confirmed in Vermont. …

Federal officials are screening everyone who has returned to the U.S. from travel in China.

As of Thursday, nine people in Vermont are being monitored by the health department for possible exposure to the virus.

It’s not indicative of an outbreak. This is just a necessary precaution. Anyone who has been to China (or near it) is being screened, as is anyone showing symptoms. It just makes sense. This is not something you want to fall behind on, as we’ve seen in China where the “official numbers” are frightening.

Let’s hope, like the two potential cases from New Hampshire, that these all come back negative.
