The Democrats 2020 Presidential Nominating process has become something of a no-win scenario. The Media won’t admit it publicly, but they think Trump is a lock. The Establishment Dems don’t want Bernie but no one else has a shot. So, how about Hillary?
Clinton has said that she would love to be President but doesn’t want to run again. That scenario of course would then fit this, she wouldn’t have to go through all the running for the position, it would be ‘thrust upon her,’ because in her mind she’s such a deserving candidate and she thinks she could beat Trump.
“Here’s the deal that I think is going down. I think Hillary and Bloomberg have gotten together and cooked up a scheme,” Dick Morris told John Catsimatidis on The Cats Roundtable radio show on Sunday.
He said Bloomberg would stay in the race, even if he has no chance of winning, in an effort to get at least enough support to keep Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders from running away with the nomination.
“Nobody will be nominated on the first ballot, and it’ll go to a second ballot,” Morris said of a brokered convention.
The DNC would do anything to keep Bernie off the ticket. The thinking is that he costs them more than the oval office. A lot more. So, they are looking for the least-worst scenario. Hillary can at least compete at near the same level, though I can’t see a repeat contest going her way. Certainly not after robbing Bernie again.
As I’ve noted elsewhere, the Bernie Bros will “burn” Milwaukee to the ground (during the convention) and then #walkaway from the 2020 election as punishment for robbing their messiah of his crown.
The Democrat Party Nomination.
It’s a workable theory for an intractable problem. One of several, but who else can you think of who more enjoys having things handed to them than a Clinton?
Unless Bernie has enough votes in the first round at the convention at which point the DNC may have to invest in crying rooms and safe spaces before the election even happens.
