Why is it that Democrats all want to “change” us? Why can’t they just leave us alone?

We’ve heard this before:  “We are five days from fundamentally transforming America“. Yeah, then President-elect Obama.  And now, Comrade Sanders is now making it quite clear that he hates America as well – and our values.

Sen. Bernie Sanders (D.-Vt.) sent out a Tweet on Tuesday vowing to change the value system of the United States of America.

“Our campaign is not only about changing the system politically and economically,” he said. “We will change the value system of this country.

Change our political system from the Constitution to…..what?   Change our economic system from capitalism to……what?  Change our fundamental values to…..what?

OK, ok, I know – Socialists from Wilson to FDR to LBJ to Obama have hated the Constitution and that for which it stands. Oh, they’ll have some kind of document might purport to be the Constitution – after all, every Communist / Socialist country has always had their own version.  They actually sounded like they’d be used, too.

Instead of the freedom to choose with whom we would trade, our only “partner” will be the Government.  Maybe not at first, but over time, that’s the plan. It’s always the plan.  He’s all in on the New Green Deal – and to be properly implemented, Government takes over EVERTYHING – there will be no aspect of life that would belong strictly to ourselves.  To do the NGD, they will take possession of our homes, our companies (either that we own or those we work for), nationalization of the healthcare industry in toto, that too of the energy industry, the travel industry, the transportation marketplace.

Sidenote: with all respect to Steve, I’m not holding my breath for Republicans to actually stand up and fight, but that’ll be a riff off another post. But I’ll be happy if they do. But it will take ALL of them.

UPDATE: just had a Slack conversation with Steve over the above Sidenote. Seems I read his comment “in error” and that what he wrote wasn’t what I got from it:

“With all respect” suggests I’m saying the Republicans will stand up and fight. I never say that. I say they need to and should and here’s why. Just curious where you read that into what I wrote?

I went back and looked at what I thought I read and it now seems a way bit more tenuous than that I first thought.  Point goes to Steve on rebuttal.

We’ve already seen the polls that show that Millennials are already predisposed towards Socialism.  Well, some version of Socialism, anyways.  It seems that none of the garden variety Millennials around haven’t a clue as to what it really would do – to them.

But then again, is it really the case that our education system has really been grooming our children for this?  No knowledge of history, of civics, of our traditional values of self-reliance, self-government, hard work, duty, honor, responsibility? Is it too late to unbake the participation trophy, victimization mentalities, the constant drumbeat that America is ugly due to the Zinnification of our history?

Even with the Iron Curtain and Berlin Wall falling 30 years ago, must we accept that Marx, Lenin, Mao, Pol Pot, the Frankfurt School, and the New Left (and yes, I’ll throw in the Media as well as being the real useful idiots) actually are the winners after all?

No. To be continued…
