Two high ranking members of the US State Department working at the American Embassy in Kyiv testified last week. Star witnesses in the House Democrats impeachment circus. Republicans quickly pulled the wool away, but a more in-depth investigation into Yovanaovich and Kent is required.
Marie Yovanovich, the Ambassador, and George Kent her number two, asked the Ukrainian prosecutor not to investigate certain groups or individuals in Ukraine. One was liberal Democrat donor Soros’ anti-corruption group (partnered was the US State Department). Another was a Ukrainian member of parliament named Serhiy Leshchenko.
One of the issues under investigation was the misappropriation of 4.4 million dollars earmarked by the US through the embassy to help the prosecutor fight corruption. The Embassy said it was distributed; the prosecutor says they never saw it.
The Ukraine prosecutor wanted to investigate Soros’ group, but Marie Yovanaovich, and George Kent, two of Adam Schiff’s star witnesses in his impeachment circus, warned the prosecutor to lay off.
The second was Serhiy Leshchenko. Who also happens to be a Fusion GPS source for the Steele dossier.
The Hillary campaign, through the DNC, paid Fusion GPS one million dollars to create the now-debunked dossier. A document compiled in part thanks to Leshchenko, who, in 2018, was found by a court in Kyiv to have illegally interfered in the 2016 US election.
Put simply, the foundation of the Democrats case for Donald Trump’s impeachment relies on the testimony of Kent, and Yovanovich. The claim is that Trump did something illegal in a phone call whose transcript we’ve all read (or could read) in which there are neither high crimes nor misdemeanors. But the people brought to testify to make the case did pressure Ukraine to drop investigations into the Democrat party’s largest financial surrogate and a Ukrainian PM who was a source for Russian opposition-research/disinformation on Donald Trump.
These are not coincidences.
The Left is once again engaged in a coverup of their dirty dealing and election interference with foreign actors by blaming it on Donald Trump. And when this most recent effort collapses, they’ll line up another one.
The question we should ask in each iteration is, what are dirty deals are the Democrats hiding, and will anyone ever be prosecuted for their crimes?
The IG report is still pending on the FISA abuses. John Durham is still preparing indictments presumable tied to the IG report. That investigation should be expanded, if it has not already, to address these issues with Ukraine. Including the Obama Administration and VP Joe Biden’s quid pro quo to get the prosecutor fired investigating Burisma and Hunter Biden for corruption.
And Ukraine seems more than willing to continue their investigations whether we promise them aid or not.
