Monday mornings are tough for some folks. Never bothered me much. Whether you agree with that or not (about Monday’s), it’s never a bad time for some happy news. Investigative expert Adam Schiff is not scheduling any more hearings. No, it is not to allow time to restock popcorn on the shelves.
He’s convinced that he can sell the idea that they have already made their case. What? That they are idiots, who have nothing? That every hearing is a nail in the Democrat 2020 electability coffin? Nope. Like Climate Change, this is settled political science.
“And what’s more, the evidence is already overwhelming. The remarkable thing about this — and we have done this with almost — well, literally no documentary production from the administration — is, the facts are really not contested. It’s really not contested what the president did.”
That’s amusing. The only relevant document, the transcript, was released before the shiffty hearings began. No other document has more bearing on the content of the call because it is the content of the call. Overwhelming evidence.
Schiff collected all the other “relevant” documentation in illegally closed-door depositions. Statements contradicted on national television during cross-examination of the “prosecutions” witnesses.
The “defense” had no witnesses, and the case has imploded. Every day made matters worse.
So, why if Schiff so confident? He has no choice. You live the lie to sustain the narrative. The Democrat Party’s media stenographers repeat it, add to it, and broadcast it until it is assumed to be true.
President Trump has publicly said, take a vote, bring on the Senate Trial. Let’s see how it goes.
Maybe that’s why Schiff and Democrat House leadership are balking. If Trump wants it, they have to want the opposite. This means impeachment is now just a talking point campaign promise cloud over Trump’s head until they can tee up the next scandal and jump-start their kangaroo court.
One problem. It is a cloud over the Democrat’s heads, and they know it. Well, a few of them do.
