Ah, President Trump. The man knows how to push buttons, how to drive a news cycle, and certainly how to get the left worked into a tizzy fit over, well, nothing.
At the UN, while meeting with the President of Ukraine, he claimed that “as far as [he’s] concerned, she’s no longer Speaker of the House.” Of course that’s not how any of that works, and he knows that, but he certainly said it on purpose and with good reason. The Left will (and has) gone nuts over it.
When President Trump talks we know a few things are bound to happen. The Never Trump right will point to what he says as evidence that he’s an unhinged man, a corrupt liar, a man that needs to be taken out through a primary challenge or even impeachment. The Left will point to it and say “see! dictator! Orange Man Bad! Orange Man Dumb! REEEEEE.” Libertarians scoff at being governed anyways – some enjoy the show and some recoil at the thought that so many on the right support him. And lastly, his supporters laugh and know most of this is all a game to the President.
It would be easy for a cynic to look at transcripts of his speeches and calculate the lies. So easy in fact it has been done, and the number is quite staggering. If you believe they are lies. The left and his opponents do believe that. They take literally everything he says so seriously that they can’t even comprehend comedy anymore. No more jokes. Banned!
His supporters can look at all of this and say it’s all ‘4D MAGA MAGA Chess’, which at least may be partly true. Trump is a performer, and always has been. The man knows how to work a crowd and rile up both supporters and detractors. You gotta admit, it’s been fun to watch. If it hasn’t been fun for you, you put way too much stock into his words. Nothing he says means anything until there’s an action to follow it up. Seriously.
Yes, he’s fulfilled many promises, but he’s also been shaky on many others – like protecting the 2A. He’s supported rapid due process (thanks Ian!) He’s supported gun control. And then, magically, nothing happens, and he suddenly doesn’t support gun control. And then he does. And then he doesn’t.
It’s hard at times to keep up with what he actually does stand for, unless you just look at the facts of what he’s done. The left will completely and always use his words, instead of his actions, to impeach his character or his Presidency.
Anyways, I digressed. Here’s what he said about Nancy Pelosi. Notice how he targets her for not supporting gun control among other things. Fun to throw a spike right into the Democrat caucus and force them to attack or defend each other. A Democrat civil war suits Trump more than anything else, as they race each other to the left and publicly condemn and attack each other as not being progressive enough.
She’s lost her way. She’s been taken over by the radical left. She may be radical left herself, but she really has lost her way. I spoke to her about guns yesterday. She didn’t know what I was talking about. She’s not interested in guns. I’ll tell you what, Nancy Pelosi is not interested in guns and gun protection and gun safety. All she’s thinking about is this. She’s been taken over by the radical left, the whole Democrat Party. And you take a look at what’s happening in the media today, the whole party is taken over by the left. And thank you very much.
My poll numbers have gone up. But I don’t want it to go up for this reason. When they look and when you see what’s happening, people are really angry at Democrats. They’re really angry at the Democrat party. And things like, as an example, drug pricing, getting drugs down, things like gun safety, infrastructure, the Democrats can’t talk about that because they have been taken over by a radical group of people and Nancy Pelosi, as far as I’m concerned, unfortunately, she’s no longer the Speaker of the House.
